[There's a crackling throughout the Tower's staircase and--painfully--the power comes back on. A moment later, all of the glamour goes back up: everything and everyone looks the way it should, although the food remains nutrition bars and water.

And then Ruana's voice comes on over the network. It's low, sleepy--furious.]

You broke it. You broke it! How could you! How could you! After everything--and now--and now--

[She laughs, though it's not a pleasant sound.]

You're all going to die in one year, you know. For real. Everything will turn off, and you'll all die when I can't maintain you anymore. Maybe I'll send you back before that, and let you all walk around your ruined wastelands for the rest of eternity. Or maybe I won't. Maybe I'll let you die here.

But for now... [Another, high-pitched giggle.]

My darlings, let's play a game.

[While this recording is open for comments, Ruana will not be responding.]

Excuse me... can someone explain what's going on? Poisoned food? It was fine earlier... is this a joke of some sort? Or is this the administrators doing?

[ There is one Maya Fey, looking quite confused. ]

Is it just me, or has a bunch of people been acting weird lately...? Also, I'm not the only one who's seeing weird things on the walls, right? And there's people with weird looking scars, too... I'm not the only one who sees this... am I?
[There's Papa Link, deathly serious with the Master Sword on his back. He's ready to kick some whale-sized ass.]

First thing must be first: Please remain calm.

I have just become aware that the Tower is under siege from a massive flying sea beast. There is no way to do an official role call of the Tower's residents, so I would suggest that you check with your friends and allies to ensure that they are safe and unharmed.

Those able to fight shall meet on the 81st floor where we can group ourselves make preparations for battle. Bring whatever weapons or armor you may have at your disposal. Surplus is good.

Those who do not wish to fight or are not able to should gather in a place with decent provisions that will last them, preferably the kitchens on the first floor.

I will remain on the network as long as possible.

Goddesses be with us.

[ Homura gave herself quite a few days to think this through. She's spent her time wandering the tower, thoroughly checking every corner for a way out and squashing any insecurity those letters brought about. It's quite likely that your character has not so much as seen her, given how Homura is presently not sure who she can trust in this tower and is being quite careful to avoid distractions.

But that isn't working. Not just that, but Madoka is here. It won't do to not check in on Madoka every once and a while, if only to give her 'friend' one less person to worry about. Plus, as much as she hates it, it has become clear that she can't get a total grasp on this place by herself. Homura would rather not learn everything from experience in such a dangerous place, and after watching the network terminal for a while she can see that the other users aren't so bad. No harm in trying, anyway.

A good day to you all. I am Homura Akemi. I have been here for less than a week. I understand those letters may have many of you uneasy right now, but I would appreciate any information you have to offer regarding the current situation.

[ Her mind gradually wanders. The letter being brought up allowed a pang of guilt to break through her thoughts, as well as a mental image of the other magical girls presumably not saved. Well, if Madoka is here and from such an early time like herself then maybe... ]

Tomoe Mami, Sakura Kyouko, and Miki Sayaka. If you have heard those names then please let me know. Thank you for your time.

[ Click. | ooc note | I've restarted Homura from a blank page, so if you're old CR and she doesn't recognize you then I'm sorry ;-; ]

[ There's a Hylian on your screen, Tower! You might recognize the blondie with elf ears, you might not--regardless, there's a smile. Though instead of speaking, there will be an accompanying text message, since Link's voice is still a little... rough. They've got a cute little tiny blue cucco in their arms that can be heard clucking on occassion, and there's a few things laid out on the Terminal table nearby. Jewelry, trinkets, to be precise. Some made of wood, some metal, some other things. They're simplistic, but fairly well-made. ]

Ah... good morning. I have a few things I would like to address... amongst what has been happening here of late. For those that are new, if I can assist you by answering what I know, I would be happy to. I am Link, it is nice to meet you. That out of the way... First of all, I would like to mention that if anyone would like music lessons or archery or sword training, I have been considering giving such, though I am not sure what exact system the others have set up for this recently, so if anyone would like to explain to me if there has been a change there, please let me know.

Second... I will be making very simple clothing and objects to wear down in the workshop if anyone would like something or has a request, as I know these things are scarce here. I am not the most skilled tailor, but I can make tunics and earrings and bracelets, as well as bows and arrows for anyone who is an archer, though if you would like to assist me in this task, I would not at all mind.

Finally, I would like to pose a small question: is there anyone here from a world where they are able to teach others magic? To be specific, I speak of healing magic; it is a skill I am certain I could learn with proper instruction, and I am finding after... last month, it would be nice to have on-hand.

[ Link will also be found on the workshop floor once they're done responding to this post, so if you'd like to go with action as a response, go right on ahead! ]

[The feed turns on to a young boy, sitting with his feet up on the desk in front of the terminal. He's leaning back in his chair, and his attention is away from the camera, at the knife he was spinning on his pointer finger.]

Hey, is the food here always so flowery? I had to eat peasant slop because it was the only thing appealing on the menu... there should be some steak here.... Ah! Sushi.

They should have sushi here, though it won't be any good if it isn't made by that Yamamoto guy... oh well, sushi is sushi, I suppose. It's far better than that disgusting... oh what do they call it.... warm cereal? Or was it oats in a meal? Hmm...

Well, whatever.

[He finally turns his attention to the feed, with a big grin on his face.]

My name is Belphegor~ Though please, ca--- [Before he can finish his sentence, the knife he had lost interest in fell off his finger onto the ground, making a slightly loud clank.]

[He leans over his chair to stare at it.]

It fell.

[He stares at it for a few more seconds before stretching, and he places his arms behind his head, no longer interested in the knife on the floor.]

Anyway, call me Bel! I'm pleased to make your acquaintance, everyone.

By the way, what's with this metal thing around my neck? It won't come off, no matter how much I cut away at it!

It's not right to treat a Prince like a dog, you know. You could be beheaded for such an act!

[Suddenly, he leans forward very close to the screen with a very serious expression.]

Or worse.

[His mouth spreads into that big, sadistic grin again.]

[Then the feed cuts there.]

[[The boy showing up on the screen looked...well. Crestfallen to say the least. He pulled his orange headband down a little before finally addressing the screen.]]

I...I'm sorry everyone. [[What's this kid apologizing for?]] We failed. We let the aliens win... [[It was clearly hard to admit, he was visibly trembling.]]

I...there's no excuse. I wasn't strong enough. I'm sorry. [[His fists finally pounded on the console. He was so frustrated, so disappointed in himself. After a moment he sighed, relaxing as best he could. His hands slipped from the console, and he put on a smile.]]

So...who all is here? Mom? Any of my team? How about any other soccer players? Please ah...speak up! I want to know who was saved...

There's an air of severity as the communicator came to, even more so than usual for the usually chipper lad. It would be no surprise to him if the many denizens even knew who he was, outside of the few room mates he had. Introductions were meaningless, he felt, as there were more important things to discuss. Tipping the brim of his hat down to shadow his gaze, the young man spoke with a voice as sharp as hot daggers.

"Who's in charge here? I want answers.. NOW."

He knew it was foolish, but Luffy didn't credit himself to being the bright one in his crew. Stupidity could lead to drastic mistakes, but if there was any hope of escape, he had to jump for it. Even if the leap meant diving into the very depths of hell itself, he'd take the plunge.. if it meant saving the people and things he held dear.

"I want the guy who's calling the shots here.. I don't care what it takes. You wanna' slap another collar on me, make me attack more people?! Face me like a man, you cowards!"

Good luck talking this one down, Aniums residents. The cafeteria being under lock and key was one thing. Almost killing one of his friends here? That's one straw too many for Strawhat Luffy.
