He hadn't found anybody and it wasn't like Labyrys was easy to miss, considering she had a gigantic metal axe somehow attached to her back, and the strangest sense of fashion he'd seen that wasn't Halloween-induced...
"You were with that wolf that started justin' up my arm, an' I had to get away before we really hurt each other."
Wait. If he hadn't crossed paths with her, there was no feasible way she could be aware he'd been given a wolf as a tedious, half-rabid crazed familiar. That scowl of his is morphing into a version of dawning shock. The only things the wolf had attacked had been Shadows or Lancer-san when he had been in his way. That meant... his costume had screwed his perception of events and the people much, much than he had originally thought. He regained his composure quickly, but the momentary shocked slip in his calm had been there for all to see. ]
