[After having spent a good long while reading and rereading the letter he woke up with and figuring out how to access the network, a bedraggled, scraggly haired human appears. He is muddy, covered in blood splatter, and looks tired.]

I am seeking information on friends.

[Simple, but this magic might not have his best interest in mind. It's still heavy and much too soon to think that he is now alone. A world destroyed? How could they have lost the war so quickly? Was Frodo not just by his side?]

Friends? I find the process of making them to be something of a personal journey. What would you like to know about them, that you cannot already learn on your own?

I am Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Pleasure to meet you. I'm rather certain we haven't met. If the document is to be believed... The places we are from have been destroyed. So you are correct. Cultivating additional friendships may be wise.

As safe as I can be for all the horrors this tower holds. What of you? You look terrible.

[Never mind him! Aragorn is having a hard enough time processing that out of their Fellowship, only-- Wait.]

Gandalf lives?

[He'll insist on checking on the Ringbearer shortly. But this news is remarkable.]

[But Aragorn! He was in Fangorn! And helped us at Helm's Deep!

A sigh escapes the elf after a moment.]

He is Gandalf the White.

[Insight and training and willingness are all required to help Aragorn untangle this particular mess of conflicting truths and for a moment, he almost clings to the console before his head once more lifts and his eyes, bright despite the rest of his appearance, show that he has caught upon at least a small sliver of the truth.]

Then he survived the battle with the Balrog.

[Or something else, something amazing. He'll need to speak with the wizard about that later.]

And yet, we are all still here. And you, it seems, from further on our journey. You seem well.

He did and he returned to us while we were tracking Merry and Pippin. They were safe. [A short pause and then he corrects himself.] They are safe.

The explanations given to us are confusing and some details may change between the administrators. Thus far, I've spoken with only two of them.

[He may notice now, as Legolas shifts into a more comfortable position to face the screen, that the elfs hair is much shorter. Just above his shoulders.]

I am, much further. I was brought here from the fourth age, year one-hundred and twenty.

[Swallowing the truth, whether previously guessed or not, is a very difficult thing for Aragorn to manage. And yet? It's met with grace both innate in his being and what he learned during his long lasting childhood. So, he simply nods.]

Were we successful? Or did I cause what became of Middle Earth?

I have luckily been in contact with one already, an elf called Legolas. It seems not many were spared from what occurred to my home.

I would not seek to tell you overmuch of it, even if it were your wish. I will assure you though that the ring was destroyed with Sauron. That is all that I can say now for Gandalf is greatly distrusting of the terminals.

The third floor in the library.

I'm not all together too certain of where I am. I woke up in a small bed. Should I move up the stairs or down?

[bow_of_the_galadhrim]

Down. The dormitories are kept at the top of the tower.

[There's also the elevator but, haha, Legolas does not trust it. At all.]

[Aragorn will have the same reaction. He'd rather use his legs and feet, thank you!]

I will call out for you then and start my decent.

[There's a pause. Obviously he's trying to figure out how to stop the terminal. Leaning and looking confused just about does it.]

[Legolas will watch him, maybe a little amused at the Man's confusion before telling him how to stop the terminal recording. He was almost tempted to leave him hanging but he was a bit anxious to see him.]

[And Aragorn, Legolas too. He's gone for a few minutes before the sound of his voice carries down the corridors. He wants to stop and examine them, examine the strange things in them, but this really isn't the time. Perhaps later, after he's found his friends.]

How is that possible if my home was destroyed?

[He'd barely picked up the book he had been reading again when Aragorn's voice carried. Book tucked under his arm, the elf quickly leaves the library and into the hall to look for him. He isn't hard to spot and despite the mud and blood that covered the ranger, the elf moves to embrace him when he is close.]
