Good morning, everyone. This is Kidou Yuuto.

[Almost anyone would recognize that familiar introduction, and the boy who was sitting with his arms crossed, staring sternly into the feed. Yes, boy, that means good ol' Kidou is back to his regular self, like everyone else who was affected during the most recent experiment. And surprisingly or maybe not surprisingly, he doesn't seem as down in the dumps about what happened. In fact... it's almost as if he was pumped, his whole aura was on fire!]

I'd like to skip the formalities this time, and get right to the point of this post. [Meaning he's not going to ask how everyone is or who all had experienced what he had or what have you like he normally would after an event.]

In light of what had happened recently, I've realized a few things.

I've realized just how precious my life is.. and how precious the bonds I've gained are. Though everything is really fuzzy... while I was in that state of mind, of being there for so long, I remember feeling... empty. I didn't have a lot of friends left, and I don't think I had treasured them enough while I had the chance....

Well that's going to change.. I won't take any of my friendships for granted anymore than I already have, and I want to take this chance to say...

[And he stands up and backs away from the screen, bowing deeply.]

Thank you, everyone. I'm very grateful for all of the people I've had the chance to meet, and I'll never forget any of you, even if we have to part ways one day.

[He returns to his seat and clears his throat a little, before his eyebrows lower a bit, indicating that he's getting really serious.]

And another thing...

Everyone... don't you find it a little strange, that they would do something like raise our age and experience in the Tower for an experiment? I've noticed some people thinking that it means that we'll be in this place that long but... I don't think that's the reason for it at all.

I think they know we won't last here as long as they'd like, and they were testing to see how we would react being in there that long, because they won't get to see it by waiting. Otherwise, there's not really much of a reason to something like that. And even though the experiments they put us through are cruel and heartless... they have a reason for each one, right?

I think about that, and I can't help thinking that we're going to have a chance to leave. It gives me a newfound hope for what lies ahead, I feel like I can endure anything they throw at us, because it'll be worth it in the end. [He smiles.]

We can make it!

[He hopes this post will be able to cheer at least a few people up, and give them hope too. He's not very good at boosting morale like his Captain was, but if he can be even a little bit like him, he's sure his good intentions will get across somehow!]

[Lancer, huh? He's still a little miffed with Lancer so his expression is a bit annoyed at first glance of who this message was from. But it soon softens to a warm smile, and he gives the other a nod.]

You don't need to thank me.

Still quite relieving to actually hear it from someone. And to know someone still has enough hope to say stuff like that.

[It really helped clear his head and shake him free of the lingering thoughts of the experiment and the possibility of being stuck in the Tower.]

I was taught by someone I respect greatly that you shouldn't give up until the very end, and that's what I intend to do.

That's the spirit! We'll all fight it out together.

[Even if he doesn't mind staying in the Tower, he'll help those who want to leave find some way to escape. Or some way to make the administrators treat the residents better.]

Though...if you do stay in the Tower, you and Urotsuki end up quite a cute couple.

[Not that he's seen them together during the experiment. But just from the way Kidou spoke about their relationship and what he had seen of their adult personalities, he had a gut feeling that they had a happy marriage.]

[And at that, his face goes quite red and he nods.]

Y-yeah.. thanks...

[But then he thinks for a minute, and his face turns almost pale, his expression now a little sad.]

...do you think I'll be able to stay with Urotsuki.. if we find a way out of here and back to our real worlds?

...

[He's silent for a moment. He doesn't know how the Tower operates, so he can't say anything for sure.]

I think...yeah. As long as you love each other, you'll find some way.

[He smiles. That doesn't seem very characteristic of Lancer to say... but it does make Kidou feel better, somehow.]

Yeah, you're right. Things will work out somehow.

[What can he say? Kidou's little pep talk made him feel a little more idealistic than usual.]

Until then, don't worry about it. You're both here and you've got plenty of time!

[He nods.]

It's a good idea to make most of the time I have. And I don't mean just with Urotsuki, but with everyone else, too. [Right now would be a good time to start up a soccer club...]

You should try to do the same, Lancer.

[His grin gets wider.]

What makes you think I haven't been doing it all along?

Well said, Kidou. Riki has no right to the flow of time. But if it was, indeed, a way to test us...

*He sighs. He doesn't know what to think.* ...It's. A very mortal idea, to treasure what you have while you have it.

*A smile, then, kind.* One I lost very quickly. Treasure it.

... [Come to think of it, Lancer does seem like he enjoys being here more than others.... ~~especially when he's around ladies~~]

Continue to make most of the time you have, then.

Now that's something I can do.

[Now, to draw the line between "make the most of" and "go overboard".]

[ When the video clicks on on the other side, there's... your girlfriend sleeping. Sorry, Kidou, but she's already always so sleepy to begin with, so if you're going to hold super long monologues then she's just plain going to fall asleep! Apparently she accidentally pressed a button with her elbow, that's how the video turned on.. ]

[He nods.]

I'll be sure to.

[He crosses his arms over his chest, but his smile hardly falters. He's going to take that as a compliment, whether she means it as one or not...]

It's better to be positive than negative, isn't it?

You don't really need to thank me for that, Maizono-san...

[He lets out a little sigh, as he sees her video. She must have been sleepy, huh...

Quietly, he leaves from his terminal and looks around the other ones until he finds her. The smile on his face is fond as he watches Urotsuki sleep for a moment. He remembers how the two were married while they were older... and a small blush colors his cheeks. He... wouldn't really mind spending his life with her, to be honest. Maybe even one day they'll be able to have a family together...

But that's thinking way too far into the future. As it is, he has no idea how long they really have together. He'll have to spend as much time with her as possible, because every second he has with her is precious. That's what that experiment has taught him.

Gently, he taps Urotsuki's shoulder.]

Wake up, Urotsuki.

Ah! I hadn't thought about that! No, what you're saying makes a lot of sense! Even if it is true that our homes are destroyed, there is still something waiting for us beyond the walls of the Tower...

Hmm.. [ She half-mumbles something in her sleep, but then she does slowly seem to wake up, raising her face from where it had been lying and blearily rubbing at her eyes a little bit. ]

.. Yuuto? It's morning..? [ IT'S BEEN MORNING A LONG TIME AGO, UROTSUKI. How do you think you dragged yourself to the terminal.. ]

[He let's out a little "pff"]

Yeah, it is.

[How long have you been sleeping here Urotsuki...]

You really shouldn't sleep here, your back will get sore. [He holds out a hand.]

Come on, let's go to your room.

[ Another sleepy blink, but then she does grab his hand - at least that's an action she never has to think much about, so it comes easily when he's offering his hand like that. She stands up. ]

I was just listening to what you were saying on there, but.. I guess I got a little tired while I was listening.

But you deserved a thank you, for going out of your way to say all that when so many people were shaken from this, you know? I felt better just hearing that.

[Once she's standing, he uses his free hand to gently ruffle her hair a little, as he lets out a small chuckle.]

It is pretty early, you should get some more sleep if you're falling asleep at the terminal. [Also he talks a lot so he's not really surprised that she'd fall asleep listening to his speech.]

.. Hmm, I don't mind sleeping. [ Of course not, she never does, and she rubs her eyes a little more with her free hand. ]

Will you come sleep with me, though..? I don't want to be alone.

_{[She wasn't sure how to sum up what she'd taken away from that mottled mess of memories of not-future, until she'd heard Kidou's words.

Empty was a great way of describing it. Empty, lonely, useless and stagnant - and it makes her just feel so complacent, because she'd begun to get used to this place before that happened. She'd begun to start living here instead of existing here, and suddenly she'd seen where that road actually went.]}

..I think you're onto something this time, Kidou. _{[Her mouth curls into a sly smile.]} It's nearly been two years they've been at it - and the longer they keep this whole 'drag people in and poke them' thing going, the riskier it gets.

_{[He was right. This simply couldn't last forever. Yet there's a tiny, miserable part of Sayaka asking, _{'well, then what? You go home and die because you're still not strong enough to stay alive?'} It's just another stupid, selfish thought that she has to quash.]}

You want me to sleep with you? [Well he just woke up maybe an hour ago he wasn't tired... but he couldn't really deny her like that, could he?]

Sure, I'll join you.

[Ah, hearing that makes his smile widen just a bit.]

In that case you're welcome. I had been thinking about that for a little while and I thought that it was something I needed to share, even if some people wouldn't agree.

[ AHAHAHA SORRY KIDOU. She could sleep all day long and still always feel like sleeping more.. never stop sleeping.. ]

Thank you. I really, really like that.. [ A smile. ] It's much more fun to sleep together, at least.

I would see why some people won't agree, but hopefully the majority will.

You know, you should make these speeches more often.

[His face starts turning a little red at that and he lets out a small nervous laugh.]

Aha, really? Making speeches like that isn't really something I'm used to doing... I can't say I'm really all that good at it. [In face, before he met his best friend, his speeches to boost morale entailed telling everyone to get over themselves and deal with how tough life is...]

But if you think I should....

Even so, you're doing really well. But you don't have to do it if you're not comfortable.

[ Though she says that with the most earnest of smiles. Really, what everyone needs in this hellhole is to be more positive about their situation. ]
