It's an all right theory. Of course, it's operating on the assumption that they're actively holding us here with some sort of power that'll reverse as soon as they die. Pretty risky - if you're wrong, we could just get stuck here with no knowledge of where we are or how their equipment works.
Not that I'm siding with them. I'll agree that things would probably be better if they were dead, but I wouldn't just kill them without being more certain it'd either reverse the process, or we would be able to take care of ourselves here.
