[Heather is unfamiliar with the network and the image is shaky at first as she fumbles with the device. After a few seconds the picture settles down and reveals the girl's face, which displays an indifferent expression. There is quite a bit of confusion hiding behind the serene look that Heather is determined to keep to herself.]

Uh, hey. Can somebody tell me exactly what's going on here? All I know is that somebody brought me here and they're saying the world got blown up or something.

So what? We're just stuck here like this or... what's goin' on here?

[She looks uneasily down at the ground before returning her gaze to the screen]

So if anybody can tell me anything... yeah. That'd be awesome.

[An odd female, definitely not human, comes into view. She offers a warm, albeit apologetic smile before speaking in a thick accent.]

Aye mon, dat be da gist of it. Yer world be gettin' destroyed or already done for by da time ya be gettin' brought here. An' now ya be stuck here like da rest 'a us.

[She sighs before continuing, shaking her head.]

Can't be sayin' dis is a walk in da park eitha mon.

A lot of us aren't accepting just being stuck here, but... Right now, that's essentially how things are.

[There's no way Heather can disguise the shock of seeing that face appear on the screen. The only things she's ever seen that looked so inhuman were the creatures in Silent Hill, and they'd tried to kill her. The strange woman doesn't seem like a threat by any means, but it takes Heather a moment to get used to the appearance, as well as the heavy accent.]

So that's it? I'm just stuck here?

[The news is unsettling and Heather doesn't know just how upset she should be. They could be lying about the destruction of her planet, which is what she'd already been thinking, but the idea of it being true made her feel a bit queasy.]

Whadda you mean it's not a walk in the park? What the hell is this place?

[Heather isn't quite ready to accept the fact that she's utterly trapped here, but she is at least willing to calm down a bit]

But there has to be some way out...

[After barely surviving Silent Hill and making it out only moments before finding herself here, the thought of being trapped in yet another hell is almost too much to take.]

They brought you here too?

Yes. A few people from my world too. And the part about our homes being destroyed... Well, there are differing opinions. But basically, if it is true, we were rescued, though not by people who entirely wish the best for us.

The admins of this tower are...

[Horrible. Crazy. Totally evil.]

Cruel. They perform experiments on us, watch our every movement, let us get killed. Then they squeeze our souls out of ruined bodies and build us another.

[The girl's words send a freezing chill through Heather's body and nearly induce her first panic attack. The memories of her life as Alessa speed through her mind; the rituals, the sacrifices, the daily torment and pain from her classmates and her own mother.

[The idea of her soul being taken from her dead body and inserted into another is an all too familiar one, and it doesn't really bother her too much. It wouldn't be the first time she'd been given a new life rather than perish.

[With everything considered, the entire situation won't be much different than her first life. At least it'll be easy to get used to.]

What kind of experiments... exactly?

This whole tower is an experiment, it seems. There are all sorts of different floors, some full of monsters. There are plenty of floors that look like they shouldn't even exist.

But... The administrators sometimes do things outside of that. Put us all in strange and dangerous scenarios, give us illnesses, or change our ages.

That sounds... awful. How long've you been here, anyway?

[Xue nods at her first question.]

As far as any of us be knowin', yeah. We be stuck here mon.

And, well, as far as it not bein' a walk in da park...

Dis be a towah unlike anyting ya have ever seen... or at least I be tinkin' wit da way yer actin'.

It's, well, to put it simply, or as simply as I can be. It's a place where multiple worlds be connected in one single place. Each floor be a world, dimension, reality on it's own accord mon. And each floor be havin' its dangers.

[The tower seems like it's probably a bit like Silent Hill. She figures it won't be too hard to get used to it.]

So it's like, alive, kinda? What kind of dangers?

Yeah, ya can be sayin' dat.

S'far as wat dangers, der be monstah's of all kinds. Some pretty easy ta be dealin' wit... some, not so much. Some are better seen as a chance ta see how fast ya can be runnin' for yer life.

Der's also lots'a traps mon. An' some floors change in difficulty dependin' on what time 'a da day it be.

Sum can be completely harmless during da day an' den completely fatal durin' da nite.

It takes time ta git used ta it, but it be possible.

Three months, now. Some people have been here for much longer though.

[So glad you're accustomed to unsightly monsters already, Heather, because you have a rather unkempt alien boy staring you down, now. His long, yellow claws were being lovingly chomped on between twisted fangs of almost the same hue, and one leg was tucked up beneath him as he sat in the terminal chair.]

[Gamzee was restless, and trolling the network had not been as rewarding as he thought it would be today.]

[Grinning at the new human girl, he at least pulled one of the hands from his mouth, giving himself a little space to speak.]

You up and landed your motherfuckin' ass here in the fuckin' Tower of Gamimus. You be having the express mother fucking honor of starin' your mighty omnipotent overlord in his most ravishing clownish visage.

[Pulling the other hand from his mouth, he twirled it at the wrist a few times before giving a curt bow.]

Let's all have a bitchin' time here, motherfucker.

[Heather makes a face. It sounds like some stupid video game and not something anyone should actually have to deal with.]

So, how do I know which floors are too dangerous?

So, this is like some kinda weird concentration camp with even crazier experiments... Has anyone ever gotten out?

[Heather plans on trying to get out of here as soon as possible and wants to know her chances of success.]

[Heather isn't too surprised to see the freakish face that stares back at her. She's become accustomed to expecting a person and getting something much more monstrous. His obscene language makes it too hard not to smile and she even feels a twinge of laughter at the back of her throat.]

Well, most'a dem have da potential to be dangerous if the Administrators have anyting ta say 'bout it.

But generally, [Xue goes into length as to which floors are relatively safe and which floors have definite dangers as well as floors that are more dangerous depending on what time of the day it is.]

Also, as a general rule, bein' out at night has risks too. Since dem monstah's are more active den.

[Honestly, he was just yanking her chain, so the fact that this girl chose to (almost) laugh instead of staring blankly, disconnecting, or any of the other similar responses he usually got was somewhat refreshing.]

[He waved his hand in mock-boredom. (Hey, at least he was lucky enough to have it be mock-boredom, now.)]

[Heather nods periodically to show that she's listening. This all seems so complicated compared to her black and white self-made rules in Silent Hill: monsters are all bad and dangerous, and trust no one. This is a lot more to take in.]

[Heather can only understand about half of what he's saying due to his strange way of talking, but then again she's only met one person who spoke normally, and only two who didn't look like something she would have been afraid of a few days ago. But things are different now, and the blubbering jibberish coming from the mouth of a strange troll man is almost normal.]

Do you ask everyone to see you as a messiah? Cause it's not really workin' for me.

[Xue did her best to make it easy to understand. She knew it could be a bit of a doozy, hell sometimes she wondered just how much there was unknown in the damned place.]

[Heather's smile is a bit strained but she is very grateful for the help.]
