Because the fact that we can't die is a symptom of this place, not an isolated problem. We need to focus on the bigger problems, and then the symptoms will hopefully cease.

And what makes you believe that we are not afraid? Discussing it doesn't solve anything, it only causes a panic. Panic leads to people not thinking clearly and thereby acting recklessly. And that leads to unnecessary deaths, people being hurt needlessly.
