Second Case [Video - before the trunk rumour is changed.]

[The camera switches on and a familiar-looking guy with a cravat appears on the screen. As one might be able to tell from icy glare on his face, he does not exactly look like a happy chap at the moment.]

It appears that someone was in my room last night. As to who it is, I do not know as I lack any evidence at present. However, I will just say one thing to the culprit out there - no one ever gets away trying to raid my trunk. [And he slams on the table to emphasize this.] Ever.

I may currently lack any power to drag you to court but I will find a way to stop you.

[Poor guy is going to kick himself for this when the event is over.;_;]

You wer not the only one. Mine was raided as well.

So this has happened to you as well. My sympathies. Do you have any leads which point to who culprit might be?

Not to point out the obvious, Edgeworth, but you have three roommates. Of course, someone was in the room last night. Probably several someones.

[Diarmuid smirks at the other man, knowing full well he is misinterpreting the man's words, but much like so often happens with Waver, his roommate's far too stern personality makes it hard for Diarmuid not to tease sometimes. His teasing doesn't last long, though, because he can tell his roommate is upset.]

I assure you. I was in the room all night and no one who should not have been there was in there. I might have slept for a while, but I am a trained warrior. No stranger would have entered the room without me knowing it. Are you sure you have not just misplaced whatever is missing?

No clear ones. I intnend to find out if it was my roommates doing it.

Really, we're resorting to petty thievery among each other now?

What did they take?

Nothing so far, thankfully. Let's hope it stays that way. [He's pretty annoyed about said 'culprit's' lack of consideration for other people's privacy as well.]

Do you want me to help look over your stuff? I'm sure I can protect it well enough!

Seems there's a rifler sneakin' into my room as well. Have they taken anythin' of yours?

Do you have any reason to suspect them?

See if the culprit starts taking any of your things and then try laughing.

Nothing of mine has been taken so far. I am quite sure some stranger came into our room last night, though. [Well, Diarmuid has a point about being a trained warrior, but....] This has happened to at least one of the other dormitories as well.

They are not people I know or trust. That s reason enough.

Thank you, Maya, but that won't be necessary. If you would like to be of help, however, then perhaps you could keep an eye out for anything suspicious in the dormitories.

Fortunately, no. There is at least one other person who has had her room raided, though.

Strange. Can't see a reason anyone would want to go through folks' stuff if they ain't gonna take anything.

I did come in quite late last night as my patrol lasted longer than usual. Might I have been the person you thought you noticed? I do try to be silent whenever I return, but that doesn't mean you might not have noticed me anyway.

[Diarmuid pauses a moment in thought. He really has no worry about any of his things going missing because he is convinced that Edgeworth must be mistaken. Yet, he knows that his roommate is also not the type to jump to conclusions out of nowhere so he wants to know exactly what proof the other man has that has convinced him so thoroughly.]

If you have nothing missing, how do you know anyone was in here? Is it a feeling? Were your things moved? And who is this other victim? What was missing of theirs if I might ask?

Haven't I seen you around Diarmuid's room before? He hasn't had anything stolen, has he?

I am afraid that you would have to give me more reason than that, Miss. "They are not people I know or trust" is not really sufficient evidence.

Then you're not thinking hard enough. Besides the few who yu can trust, anyone heree might be a suspect. After all, they have no reason to leave you to yourself. It's everyone for themselves here. So it's easier to start with people who share your room. And then move on to others if your roommates prove not guilty.

Okay! I'll hunt down anybody suspicious with my will of steel...!
