[It's Lorelei! He looks a little tired, but otherwise perfectly fine.]

I apologize for my absence this past while. It seems our population has grown since I last poked about on the network, so hello to everyone. You may call me Lorelei. I am not in spite of appearances actually Luke or Asch, they're me. It's complicated.

[And he seems to think it's funny by the way he's grinning.]

At any rate, I am hoping for an idea of what I missed, as some digging about has led me to think some significant things have happened lately! Also, for those living in room ...2-08, I believe, you do in fact have another roommate, I've just been absent a while. Hello, I look forward to meeting you all.

A lot of stuff has happened. How long have you been gone?

[Goddesses above, there are three of them. Zelda normally doesn't bother much with the network, but she can hardly ignore a giddy declaration like that.]

If you can tell me what you remember last before being sent back to your homeworld, I would be happy to explain what has happened recently as best as I am able.

I think by the calendar used here, almost two months?

I believe there had been some issues with the Tower's power supply and Riki had asked for volunteers to help fix that problem. It was fairly unpleasant all around, but seemed to have worked, except the timers on these displays haven't changed at all.

[There's been more than just three. Lorelei had been lurking around for a while, except for the most recent absence. But this might be the first time he's ever seen Zelda! Her image is studied with interest.]

Are you a friend of his? It's no trouble, but our occasional temper issues means he may be angry about it later if you're ... mmmm, not a friend, or are perhaps an enemy or any other scenario that might suddenly result in bad things.

Jason died and Ruana ate him, and some of the people were sent out of the tower but came back.

Ah... then, yes, quite a bit has happened in your absence. Jason's death is likely the most significant.

[There's something... complicated in her expression at that, which isn't helped by the creeping doubts that come with having her attention drawn to the countdown. But she pushes onward.]

But I am indeed a friend, though I am not certain how to prove it in his own absence. If he has ever spoken of a 'Princess Zelda,' that would be me.

So there are even less administrators now? That's not good.

Sent out of the tower, you mean returning home? I thought that was commonplace.

I was here when a previous attempt was made on his life with Ganon at the lead. Did he finally succeed? Or was it someone else's efforts?

[He seems curious but not particularly worried. It wasn't exactly good that another administrator is gone, but Lorelei's grasp on death is ... not the best.

[He rubs the side of his head, frowning a bit, then brightens back up.]

Uhm, I guess I'll have to ask what sort of world you're from first. I promise it's important! It'll help when I try to explain things in a way you might understand better.

... No, Ganondorf was not involved. Several of our number were thrown into a labyrinth while Ruana was in charge and given the role of either hunter or prey. After several days of this... "game," Jason was thrown in as well, and we were told if we succeeded in killing him, we would be allowed to leave.

[It's certainly not as easy for her to talk about it, though she's doing her best as she said she would. She has to take a deep breath before she gives the names of Jason's killers.]

Asch and I were the ones who landed the finishing blows.

[Hoo, okay, not going to think about that anymore. She thinks Asch to be more the type to keep a few close friends rather than a myriad of more distant ones, but she doesn't think its her place to comment.]

Thank you. If it will make things easier, I have no trouble explaining. [But where to start is the question. Hmm...] My world is known as Hyrule. It seems to be one of the less technologically advanced worlds represented here - we do not have anything like these terminals, for one. Magic and spirituality are more commonplace.

Is that a sufficient start?

No, I mean on this same world. But outside the Tower. I wasn't one of them, so you'll have to ask them what they saw.

Yes, of course it is. A magical and not technological basis is a very good thing to know! Do you have ... mmmm.. what's the -- ah, yes, deities, or elemental spirits, or such things?

[She hums a quiet affirmative in response to his sympathetic words, but speaks no more on the subject. She finds speaking of Hyrule to be much preferable, luckily for Lorelei's desire to hear a story. Legends are kind of a thing there.

She nods.]

There are Din, Nayru, and Farore, the three Golden Goddesses who created the world, its laws, and the life that dwells within it, respectively; the White Goddess, Hylia, who was entrusted its protection; and lesser guardian deities who watch over various races on a smaller scale.

No, don't be sorry. At the very least I got to talk to you, and I'm not sorry about that at all. It might not be a whole lot of information, but sometimes that's not what's important.

[Very swiftly Lorelei determines that perhaps Hyrule has a more interesting spiritual life than Auldrant did.]

I can see why your world favors spiritualism over technology, in that case. With your gods so obvious, it would be difficult to not believe in them.

[Lorelei had a good idea that 'god' is basically another word for 'aggregate consciousness'. He doesn't say so.]

I think I can work with that, however. Easier than the technological explanation! Has Asch ever mentioned to you what fonons are, and their types?

[Said just neutrally enough that it could be normal curiosity or brusque annoyance. It's Jade; you don't know.]

Home. It was ... quiet. Where were you?

[Is he supposed to be upset over Jade being .. well. Jade?? Because he isn't. He looks suspiciously pleased in fact.]

I see. I hadn't seen you about in some time, but I never saw a headstone for you at the graveyard.

I've been here.

[Suspiciously indeed, though Lorelei ignoring it is hardly unexpected of him, and really it makes things easier for Jade in general.]

I am sorry for that. It seems I lost track of time a little.

It's good to see you still here and seem as well as ever. Being on an empty world is incredibly distressing. I heard that Jason was killed and eaten by another Administrator, and a fair number of people were thrown out of the Tower for a while. It seems I missed some excitement.

You're very sweet, Lorelei.

[She remembers a few things about their last conversation.] I don't think we have the time to be having concerts now, but I'd like to sing for people again... Maybe once things are settled, we'll have a big concert for everyone.

I think that would be a wonderful idea. Eventually this must end, one way or another. And music is a fantastic way to celebrate!

[Not that he's biased or anything, of course not.]

Perhaps we should begin planning in a little while. It'll be something to look forward to.

[Whether or not they succeeded. It was good to keep a positive mindset, even if they all might be doomed.]

That's the long and short of it, yes. Tear and Anise were sent home as well.

[Lorelei pauses, weighing how he felt about that. Sent home didn't mean gone forever, he was sure of that. But..]

That's ... too bad. Perhaps we will see them again, sooner or later. Is it more difficult for you, to be without your friends?

[Jade shrugs.]

There are others who have a worse time of it. As for seeing them again, I'm afraid that's unlikely. Zo stated that he wouldn't be bringing any more lost souls in after this month.
