[Someone was not pleased and it definitely shows. The video feed was now showcasing an absolutely livid spiky-haired Asian. He was tightly gripping some sort of paper, but it was impossible to tell what exactly was on it.]

Can someone please explain to me what the hell is this?

[He suddenly shoves that paper right in front of the camera for everyone to see. Everybody here should be able to easily recognize what it was; it's the letter given to all new arrivals to inform them of their planet's demise.

After a couple of seconds, the letter was hastily removed.]

Just what kind of sick joke is this! Am I seriously expected to believe that the Earth is gone! All those millions of people completely wiped away without a trace! This stupid letter doesn't even bother to give a reason for why it's gone and just expects me to accept that it happened! Like hell I will!

[He takes a moment to calm down and his livid expression soon softens to a far more somber one.]

I want to know who was the person that "saved" me. I have some very important questions for them.
[The feed turns on to show a young 'girl' blushing brightly. 'She' shyly averts her eyes and can't quite look at the camera at first then 'she' takes a deep breath and looks into the camera with renewed confidence. 'Her' filters should work after all. This programming prodigy has written the codes 'herself' after all and checked them numerous times. That doesn't stop 'her' from stammering though. This is so embarrassing! But it's been troubling 'her' for a while now and since 'she' has decided to be strong and not run away from anything anymore...]

A-ano... does... does anyone know how one can tell if... if a friendship is perhaps more than just a friendship? How do you tell if you perhaps like someone... more than a friend? How do you know if that person feels the same way or not? I...

[There's a pause... then a frantic...] T-Thank you very much for your kind attention!

((Edit: Forward dated to 1 Sept when filters don't fail... orz))

A question.

Let us humor our captors and say that they are telling us the truth that our worlds are destroyed. Let us then assume we have only two places we can be: we might stay here, in this Tower for however long that may last or we might attempt to break out.

The Tower, while a cage, offers a sense of security. There are constant meals and general protection from what lies outside it's walls. We are, however, at the beck and call of the people who run the Tower and their whims. Yet with them you could say it's the devil you know, and know that their torment and cruelty would be as consistent as the stability they offer.

So assume a means of leaving this is found and we might venture out, and that what is outside is in fact inhabitable. But what we venture out into is a vast unknown and the only information we do have is that creatures like the ones who invaded here - and many more of them - roam the outside world. It would be a harsh, dangerous world. But also one with possibilities that could not be explored here. With freedom not to be found between these walls.

So given the choice if the chance of going home is out of the question, what do you choose: stability or freedom?

[ Video? With her hair as dishevled as it was? Not likely! Aerith was quite happy sending out just her voice, which sounded just fine! ]

Do monsters attack this place very often? I wasn't expecting that at all! But then I bet nobody knows what I was expecting.

So, I've found what looks like a food hall and there are things here I actually recognise! All I need is Tifa to mix some cocktails then I'll forget that I've been brought to strange place that's being attacked by huge, flying whales.

Does anyone want to come with me?

[ There's a pause in which you can almost hear her smiling ]

It'd be just awful if I had to go on my own.

Is something going on? The readings are off.

12:30PM EST - The Tower is rattling.

12:45PM EST - The Tower is shaking more violently. Things are starting to move around, fall over, and fall off shelves. Something like loud, twisted whalesong can be heard.

12:55PM EST - The Tower is shaking violently; anything not bolted down will start falling over. A massive whale can be seen swimming up through the fog out the lower level windows--the fog cuts into its already bubbling, too-tight skin, and it trails thick black blood, but it isn't losing momentum and it's going to break through the fog barrier soon at the rate it's moving.

1:00PM EST - The whale reaches the top of the Tower and begins ramming into it. The tower creaks and screeches and groans; a bright white light circles the Tower as a barrier is revealed to cover the entire thing.

The whale rams it. It begins cracking.]

fail-filtered messages to Sephiroth )

[Evening, Animus-folk. Have a rather concerned looking Zack on your network today. He's definitely worried about something, and considering the late hour, that's not surprising. Monsters will be out soon.]

Has anybody seen General Sephiroth around today? I looked all over and I can't find him anywhere...his name's not on his door anymore, either, but that doesn't mean anything, does it? [a glance over his shoulder, probably at that door in question, then he looks back at the screen.]

Just...lemme know if you've seen him around, okay? It's not like him to not check in.

[The feed turns on and look it's everyone's favorite narcissist, Eikichi Mishina.]

HOOOOOOOOO! Goooood morning, my little torre! I, the beautiful, amazing, talented Michel would like to make an announcement!

Today is July 27th, which means that it is Tachan's birthday!

And what a lucky man he is to have friends like me but especially me who has decided to prepare a little song for him! That's right kittens, as a reminder that now he's become even older at nineteen and shall continue to age each passing year. And what a celebration it will be! You, the tower, shall bare witness to this celebration as Michel takes the center stage, inspired by a popular song from our world.

I give you....Tatsuya's Vie de Loco!

[Oh my god Eikichi why are you bringing out a small musical tape and griming evilly and pressing play, the world does not need this...]

He's into track and field, hot bikes and and motorcycles.
I feel a premonition that guy's not as good as Michel.
He's into new sensations, new kicks in the candle light.
He's got a new addiction for every day and night.

He'll glare at you so hard you'll go dancing in the rain.
He'll make you live his crazy life but he's always such a pain
like a bullet to your brain. Come On!

Upside, inside out he's livin la vida loca
He'll push and pull you down, livin la vida loca
His hair is shit brown and his eyes the color mocha
He will wear you out livin la vida loca Come On!
Livin la vida loca, Come on!
He's livin la vida loca---

[While Eikichi is "singing", the sound of footsteps can faintly be heard to the right of the camera. They come closer and closer with each passing second, so it sounds less like walking and more like full blown running.

As soon as Eikichi is halfway through the song, the mystery person finally speaks. Or yells.]

[Before crashing into him, a hand slamming onto the keyboard, cutting off the video feed.

It was a bit of a blur, but it looked like the birthday boy in question.

Happy birthday!!]

It would appear that I have returned to the tower, and have been assigned a different room. Very strange.

I must ask -- are there others here who have been returned to their destroyed home worlds in the past? While I was previously skeptical, I had a good couple of months to confirm that Earth has indeed been completely razed. Such a pity.

I suppose it's good to be back among civilization once again. I trust you are all doing well.

This post, if people would like to utilize it, can be used to quickly meet up with those you were separated or stranded from during the previous month, as well as ensuring one another of your safety.

This will help ensure that we have one place to check for such correspondences, and will not flood the network with an overabundance of the same sentiment.

You're free to utilize your own means, of course- I simply figured this would be a useful tool, after all that has happened.

Miss Lina was right! There is a big white spider! It ate me! But I'm back now! Everyone has to be very careful though because being eaten by spiders isn't very nice!

[He doesn't look to worse for wear though and he smiles.]

The first meeting for all the people littler than fourteen is going to be this afternoon, in room 3-01! Anyone little enough is welcome to come!
[Man, he had been taking on all the notes, and... seeing some grotesque stuff in that post, but... yeah. Dammit, it really looks like this place is even worse than the school. And with Monobear here... it looks like this place is on a right track to inflict despair on everyone.

...But he has to stay strong, he needs to piece things out. To find more truths about this place. And even if all of them are not from the same world, they're still his friends, dammit!

First, a text post with his findings. A video and audio post would not be that helpful since he's halfway between crying and being a wreck.]

...Ah, I'm sorry if I bothered you, but I made a list of points that Jason-san covered in his last talk session.

Feel free to add to this if I missed something, alright?

You have received a file, open it? )

[When the video feed first comes up, it's silent, and also not quite centred. Grell speaks for a moment, before realizing her microphone is muted, and depresses the button to correct the problem. There's an exaggerated look of disgust on her face; it's been nearly twenty-four hours since she woke up, alone, in her room, and it's taken her this long to figure out how to get a mass message out. She probably could have asked for help, but hey. She's stubborn.

Settling back into her seat, she waves briefly, without much energy, to the camera. The only thing that has gone "right," today, is finding her own clothes, in the trunk by the foot of her bed. She pulls her braided hair forward over her shoulder, before she speaks.]

I know some of you must think this letter is having a big laugh at your expense, right?

[Grell holds up her own, and then smacks it lightly back down on the counter.]

That's fine. Think whatever you like, and we'll see who's really laughing, won't we? In the meantime, I'm looking for someone. His name is Ronald Knox. Overly cheerful, with really unfortunate hair? He's got a ridiculous toy he's rather fond of. It looks like this.

[She flips the sheet of paper over, and holds up a terrible drawing of a lawn mower.]

We worked together. I have every reason to believe the both of us took a page from Ophelia's book, and drowned, during our last assignment. He was my responsibility. If any of you have seen him, do let me know. I'll be in the first floor dormitories.
