Hello. Since I'm certain many of you are busy or predisposed searching for the people who were likely abducted for another experiment, I'll try to be short with this.

A certain FAQ has been forwarded into my care recently from the old owner. If you are new here, I'd really like to take the time to suggest you please read it, even if it's gotten a bit large, because this is very important for those of us who happen to be trying to simply live here, and doubly so for those who don't know what floor is dangerous or what goes on here. AKA you newbies.

I have but one simple request: Tell me what would you like me to add to this, if anything. Another one, if you're not busy: would you mind giving me some questions that you hear frequently? I'm considering adding a Q&A about what we know/don't know/what to do and not to do, but I'm not certain if it's necessary or not.

That's all, really; I want to do my best to make sure this is as well-maintained as the original author intended.

Your information is a bit late. All of my questions have been answered by force through circumstance. Has anyone tested the collars for their threshold tolerance by color?

I apologize for that. Until recently the original writer had been unable to access the Network for various reasons; I hope that won't be the case for others.

I don't think anyone has tried that yet, though many people have attempted to remove them, and doing so is a very bad idea in our case. What sort of test would you be thinking of doing?

Accepted and understood. Powers have a variable known as a factor. Some factors are genetic. Other factors come from outside sources, others by a specific radiological signature. Perhaps it would be wise to gather as much information as possible to understand the purpose behind the collars through a census, if possible.

Yes, I did. If you're referring to that one Q&A, I want to ask the other people here instead of solely using that.

And I'm only looking for suggestions at this point and if it's even a valid idea. Honestly, I just want to help make things a bit easier for people; put info all in one place, as it were.

Understood and noted. You misunderstand. It is not a removal. It is testing why they are in place by color.

Hmm... you're right about that. There's a very wide range in abilities from normal with only learned trade skills to actual magic and powerful nonhuman abilities here. It might actually not be a bad idea to ask people about that.

I appreciate the input. Just... be careful if you plan to do anything to the collars themselves, okay? I've seen what happened when someone demanded it be removed, and, well, it... ended poorly.

If our administrators are to be believed, though, they're saying the collars are for stabilizing us in this world. Hard to say.

If I were ya, I'd summarize that entire post in a separate file, starting with the kid whose collar got taken off.

Understood. If the stabilization process is harsh by normal standards, then the colors would not be relevant. Standard consensus of those I have observed are from an earth-like environment. The colors would be more standardized if this were correct. I am disinclined to believe entirely the purpose is for stabilization. Administrators have a purpose to control.

I assume they're by color 'cos it's easy to spot at a glance. I mean, it doesn't seem like that big a question to me.

I'm having trouble with the world's listing because it's such a monster to even attempt to compile, to be honest.

I definitely need to do some more research and ask people, but I also don't want to be too invasive about it...

That's the one thing that we've had trouble with, I think.

Now if I can manage to actually not get kidnapped myself, I should be able to update things more frequently, but time will tell with that one.

It's hard to pinpoint a direct cause. Even if we get a census from people, we still can only make reasonable guesses--but at this point, that's better than nothing.

If we manage to gather 100 people to fill out the form, the percentage can be measured, however biased. As you said, it is better to have some than none at all. The factors to consider should be substantial and easier to manage. We can gauge the range and the scope another time. People want answers. Let us provide them what they seek, anon.

I'm the only one with experience in this. If it could be helpful information, then I don't mind discussing it at all.

I can ask some of my friends what they're comfortable sharing though.

um. as for mine, it's a lot like the normal earth, but there's kind of a hidden magic thing going on. that's really it.
