A lot of things have really begun to make him think caring is worthless anyway, so why bother, right?

He takes a moment, watches her, then... speaks quietly. ]

[ No sarcasm. No anger. No... emotion. Nothing. His tone is entirely neutral. Like he's hiding behind it, almost, or cutting himself off.

Not that she's not dealt with it before, but that's just how it is. That's how he's been lately. If he were in his right mind he'd be worried or apologize to her, but as it is, Chidori alone--hell, all of Strega--could probably not change how he's behaving or feeling. ]

[She has to blink- because her ability to be blank has always been impressive, and so has Minato's but this... this is beyond that. He doesn't understand and it baffles her because he should. Considering he's the reason she- or any of them really- even had reason or occasion to learn what caring for someone other than themselves could mean.

But what's it worth if he doesn't even know that anymore?]

The point is that we're family, isn't it? That we're supposed to be there for each other?

Or isn't that enough?
