[ Some time after the tower is overcome with violent quaking Alucard feels the need to send out a signal. With no concern as to who sees or hears him he broadcasts a short, blunt and cold message. It sounds more like a command than any distress call or cry for help. ]

Haldir and Sho. You will contact me the moment you receive this message.

I'm going up. The two of you, however, are not.

You are not going up there alone!

[ Forget manners, Haldir doesn't have the time for such meaningless behavior. Already dressed for what he assumed will be war, the elf literally glares at Alucard for even suggesting that he'll stay behind. While he's certain that the dhampir is skilled enough to protect himself, something tells Haldir that combat skills alone won't be enough here. ]

Think reasonably, mellonamin. You are about to risk your life on a foolish endeavor if you dare to do this alone.

[ Alucard's stern expression does soften but he cannot forget his resolve. If Haldir ended up hurt he would never forgive himself. ]

I cannot risk you getting hurt.

The same in regards to you, Alucard!

[ He sighs deeply in both frustration and worry. ]

I cannot fathom how it's possible for such disaster to strike us so suddenly. Even now, my comrades scramble to make sense of this situation.

There will be some who are unable to descend the tower on their own, being hardy as I am, I feel comfortable going to see if there's anyone left.

[ He pauses for a moment ]

I do not know how this came about, but in time I'm sure we will know.

Until that time, do take care of yourself. As hardy as you might be, I...

[ Another sigh escapes him as he does his best to hide himself from view. ]

It would grieve me plenty if you were to perish here.

[ Alucard's expression said it all, there was the hint of a smile and a real fondness in his eyes. ]

Of course, I will be completely fine I'm sure. I will see you again soon, Haldir.

[ Finally getting a hold of himself, Haldir couldn't help but match Alucard's smile with a faint smirk. ]

You have no choice other than to return alive, friend. That is if you fancy the thought of me punishing you for failing later.

[ He's trying to sound bold here but it's quite difficult to do so when the ground beneath your feet is rumbling. ]

[ A brief chuckle, but he can feel the worry and tension between them, even through this strange electronic device ]

I would not like to punished, that's for sure. I suppose I had better try my best to come back to you then.

You are wiser than most men, Alucard. Very wise.

[ A chuckle escaped him but soon it was halted once a loud rumble caught Haldir's attention. ]

...I'm afraid we must part soon.

[ Sadness now mars his handsome face as he gazes at Alucard. ]

There is another like me, an elf named "Legolas". If you see him, be sure to keep him safe. The two of you should not wander this tower alone.

[ The name was familiar and after a moment's thought Alucard recognised it ]

Ah, I spoke with Legolas earlier, although I do not know what he looks like I will try to listen for his voice as I move up the tower.

I implore you to do so.

[ The young prince has a penchant for being reckless these days. That's not something that bodes well with Haldir. ]

I honestly believe that fool of an elfling will get himself killed if not watched properly.

You know, you need a little more worry in that tone to make me do anything.

[ A slight peevish sound to his voice to go along with the pout. Yup, you are so Kei mark II now. ]

[ Alucard's brow furrows slightly, frustrated at just how uncooperative his new companions are. ]

I'm not trying to move you, Sho. I want you to stay away from this. Whatever "this" is.

It's not that bad. [ Yup, he isn't listening anyways. Then again, he had lived in the middle of an undeclared war zone between races for most of his life. He would feel weird if he didn't get into a fight with something most days. ]

[ He says firmly, frustrated with his new friend's devil-may-care attitude. ]

It's just a giant whale and a bunch of monsters. Nothing to worry about at all.

[ Scrupulous expression ]

No, I'm not. [ Eyeroll on his end. Yup, he is now back to his completely bratty young adult mode here. ] I can handle myself. Worry about the people that can't fight in this miserable place.

[ He sighs ]
