Reno listened patiently, not interrupting him, like it was a mission debriefing. When he finished, he shook his head. "You... might have seen the revival process. The no-collar might have been Jason... think about it, they're the only ones that don't have collars. And revival got kinda messy in June... they weren't exactly manning the posts."

Shion nodded, as terrifying as that thought was it was likely. After all June had proven that the tower couldn't function without their captors paying attention to it. Zo wasn't enough.

"I thought that, or it could have been one of the others. Jason seems most interested in us and how we work though." At least how their bodies worked, how they couldn't die.

He didn't seem to care at all about them as people.

"I doubt it. They all seem to have an assigned role. And ya really think Dax cares that much more? He could have a million reasons for being the 'nice' one."

He wasn't just talking out of his ass, here. There had been many, many examples of that in Shinra, how many he had to work with. In fact, that was part of the reason why the Turks even existed.

"Do you think so?" Shion seemed genuinely shocked. He wasn't stupid, he knew of the evils of the world even if he was still learning, if he knew he only had witnessed the very surface. But he hadn't much experience with those who seem to be good but are actually bad, he knew of some capable of tricking him like Ganondorf, but Dax genuinely seemed to try to help them.

"I think these people are playin' a much deeper game than we can see here." Again, not something he wasn't used to. Some in Shinra were better at it than others. Sometimes Reno could see through it, sometimes he was in the dark, it depended on how much he thought about it, which wasn't often. Unnecessary things happened when he thought about it.

"The Turks... we were the ones that went out and did the dirty work so Shinra could have a clean front, Shion. Granted, the guy makes it bearable with the food, but... he hasn't made the extra effort. You got to look at actions here."

"So you think he is there so they can claim we are being looked after?" Did they really think that claiming they were fed and looked after by one of the five administratives meant that they would remain silent when experimented on?

"Did it work? Back on Midgar? Did people think Shinra were not involved with anything the Turks did?"

"Everything was kept secret, so most people had no real clue it was us." There were always the conspiracy theorists and the anti-Shinra movements, of course, but they were few and far between, and none had any evidence. Except AVALANCHE.

"I think there's a reason we're here."

Shion nodded, much like No. 6 then... And the correctional facility. He felt a bit uneasy, the fact he had been working towards fighting against those who harmed others in his world and now he had joined them... Though here they were not bad, at least not compared to those who had brought them here.

"I thought so, they haven't saved us out of kindness, but I can't think of what reason they have."

Oblivious to what Shion might be thinking, he stood up and stretched. "You've been here a lot longer than I have. Why don't you document the kinda shit they got up to? Sort of like a report. I bet a lot of people would be interested in it..."

Hey, if it was paperwork, Reno was more than happy to leave it to Shion.

Shion nodded, "That's a good idea, there were some people asking for information on the network and some people that answered had been here longer than me, I can add that information. Maybe question people in person."

If living in a total dictatorship had taught Shion anything it was that using the network was a really bad idea when it came to speaking about those who ran the place.

"Sounds like a mission. You up for it?" He wasn't going to burden Shion by making it an order. The kid already had a ton on his plate. "You can use the info in my book for a startin' point."

Shion nodded, it was less dangerous than the last mission Reno had given him; which Shion hadn't been able to complete since Hojo had left the tower; probably for the best, considering how much damage he could have done.

"Is that alright?" Shion hadn't touched Reno's book since the time he had read it without Reno's permission, he still remembered the information of course but he had stayed well away.

"If you put it back when you're done." Reno decided if he couldn't trust Shion by now, it was too late anyway. "Yeah, go knock yourself out."
