I'm not sure if I should be impressed, flattered, or creeped out. But, I am not naive enough to dwell on that. Instead of reading back and wasting time, do you mind filling me in instead?

If you give me a timestamp on your last appearance, I can give you a quick run-down for a modest fee.

If I had to guess, I would say about July? I've sort of lost track of time.

Our records show that there was some sort of puzzle situation going on with a handful of the residents, though nothing seems to have come from that. There wasn't anything interesting until a fucking whale crashed into the Tower from outerspace and unleashed a bunch of monsters along with. Apparently, that kind of thing is the native fauna of whatever world we're stuck on now.

After that, these things called Shadows started manifesting, and attacking people. Someone got turned into a giant monsters and attacked the library, and to close up the month we got people swapped into the wrong bodies and going crazy, and a bunch of people getting attacked by some monsters under their beds.

I remember something of puzzles, but it's not clear in my memory. The next I knew, I was "home".

And I can assume this "fucking whale" was not wearing a crown, or doing anything outside of the ridiculousness you already mentioned? I'm almost disappointed, that almost sounds homey.

Shadows? Wait, that may be important- but I will save that for later. Otherwise, it seems as if it's been an entertaining time for you all. At least they keep everyone busy.

No crown. If it had one, it probably fell off and crushed someone. It destroyed almost everything except the bottom few floors, but as you can see, it's basically good as new.

What's this about Shadows?

Normally I would keep this to myself, but again, no time. My world has figures who appear to be shadow-like versions of people, and I want to rule out any possible cross-contamination. Can you give me more information?

They were weirdos with yellow eyes. They acted like exaggerated and fantastical versions of the people they were copying. If you made them angry, they became monsters and attacked. I don't really know where they came from.

...eyes aside, that is cutting quite close to my own experiences actually. A person's legitimate despair and guilt would coalesce with an exaggerated form of their anger and sadness, resulting in the physical shadow seeking to kill the person they were created in the image of. It happened to almost all of my...friends, back home.

To think that such a peculiar occurrence could be so similar across different mediums is concerning enough. How did they come about? And were they caused by those who run this place?

Like I said, I don't know where they came from. Think it was from someone here in the Tower, 'cause the admins didn't seem to have anything to do with it, besides letting it happen.

I dunno. I didn't really pay attention to the fallout. Narukami seemed to know what was going on with them, so you can try asking him.

Joy. [Oh, there we go, now we're back to sarcastic!]

To be blunt, in case something goes awry in the near future, I have my obvious concerns this is something that can pass through prolonged contact. Given my friends were the only ones to "catch" this particular phenomenon back home, and then it showed up here...I'm trying to rule out being some sort of carrier, myself. Even if it never occurred to me.

In light of this, I suppose I'm not going to be able to 'meet up' with you and trade anything for this information. A pity, I don't like doing these things on credit.

Nah, I doubt it. Like I said, Narukami knew a lot about, so I figure it's some phenomena from his world. We've got Shadows back where I come from too, so stash your sick mask.

If you're sure you want to take that chance, be my guest. I'm still concerned by the similarities, given your world at the very least I can guarantee is different from mine. Or, I am assuming you do not live on a giant ship. Space ship. Whatever it happens to be next.

No space ship. Only the Tower of Demise. That's about as far as we go for weird structures.
