[If there's any reason why Shepard's been oddly absent it's because she's had to nurse Nanako ever since she got sick. Doesn't help that her roommates are not the most sane of people to be leaving her with, so it was either leaving her with Yu so he could keep an eye on her himself now and then, while she goes out to fetch medicine that she thinks might work, or keeping her here and getting her roommates all infected with it if they were even around. And then there's the fact that she might still be at risk in spite of her implants due to the different environment. Nothing like a classic Catch-22...

She waits until the poor girl's asleep before getting onto the network herself while it's still up, holding her forehead to see if she's catching it herself before typing this out.]

Anyone here that's good with medicine? I'd try the usual, but it's not working out so well.

[Shepard herself is fine, at least for now, but she's certain that she might be getting a case of the flu herself soon. Probably comes with the territory of handling a sick kid... 8[]

[Yeah... he didn't really care if he got sick at this point. He just wanted to make sure she was alright at the end of it, because if not then he will have Jason's head at some point.]

Sou ka. [...He doesn't even realize he slipped back to Japanese, flipping off the translator in the process. He pauses, before looking directly at her. It's a silent question, "How are you holding up?"

[They both would, really. Why they would 'rescue' a kid is anyone's guess, but clearly one of the reasons had to be 'to let them suffer'.

Shepard quirks a brow for a second at the sudden change in language... then pointedly shakes her head, moving onto the question his gaze asks.]

I could be better off. The flu hasn't really settled in yet... [Thanks, implants.] But it probably won't be long before I start feeling it too.

[Uh oh, he better watch out then. He shakes his head apologetically. Really, it's an old habit he can't break from, sometimes.]
