[The feed activates to Jellal shifting around with a frown, he may or may not still be looking for some kind of SE-plug or otherwise magical connection. ...Oh hmm. Seems like he's managed to activate it regardless of that.]

So this is how this works... quite strange. To think that so sophisticated machines could be run without any obvious magical source...

[Things do indeed work quite differently here...

He shakes his head.]

I apologize. [He doesn't mean to waste anybody's time after all.] My name is Jellal Fernandes; I arrived in this tower about ten days ago.

At first I believed this was the punishment the Magic Council saw fit for me... that is however not the case, it seems.

[Not from what information he had gleaned so far at least...]

While I lack almost all memory of my past, I know that I was a horrible villain ...that my actions caused many people misery and anguish.

If any of them is among you, I would like to apologize... and atone in any way you see fit. And if I can be of help to anyone else regardless of that... then I would like to offer my services.

[Because Erza had told him to live... so live and atone are really the only things he can do. The only thing that someone tainted like himself could be possibly allowed to. Right?]

[More so-called magical beings, not that Hei had any doubt. The man certainly made a claim not many would make, putting himself in the spotlight for everyone in this tower. He intrigued Hei.]

Magical sources you said earlier. Does that mean you deal with magic?

[Well... Jellal wouldn't have considered his musings about magical sources really worth mentioning. Especially considering what had followed. He looks appropriately confused.]

...I am a mage, if that is what you are asking.

It is, and the rest of your story proved interesting, if not bold.

Which is why if you wish to make yourself useful, I have an idea.

...Not exactly the words I would choose for it.

[He is admitting to his deeds and trying to atone for them, after all. This is about an attempt for redemption, not about bravery.]

What is it?

[He had not meant bravery in such a sense, but admitting so many things would probably earn ire and a bit of distrust from others. After all, the tower had its fair share of liars.

But everyone still deserved a chance.]

I am organizing a sort-of school within this tower, and need those that might be able to fit the role of a teacher, be it in combat, literature, magic, cooking, etc.

[Any distrust and ire he may receive from others has been thoroughly earned through his sins, by the person he had been before... the person he maybe fears just a little.

He looks surprised at that offer, it's... about the last thing he would have thought to be asked to.]

And... you want me to take up teaching those interested?

Yes, or if there are other areas you would prefer to do, there are those classes to start as well.

[He presses his lips together, eyes drifting off as he thinks for a moment.]

With my memory being in the state that it is, I'm not sure if I'm in the position to teach anyone anything.

[So far all that he knows for certain, sort of comes with instinct - he is never sure why he knows what he knows, only that he does. Maybe in time it will come back, but...]

...Please give me some time. I will get back to you.

[Lord knows being stuck in this tower and his story...a lot on his plate already.]

[He bows his head lightly.]

[Magic council?...]

Magic, huh?

[That is the assumption, Allen.]

My name is Allen. It'd be rude not to say what my name is, right? [He certainly wasn't laying any pressure on anyone with that look...]

[Yep, magic. The thing most things run on - in his world at least.]

...I suppose?

[He is not entirely sure what to do with the question. Given all the other things. No need to be impolite though.]

It's nice to meet you.

[A golden orb with wings flutters around his head before landing on the top of his crown like a nest.] So what's this "Magic Council" thing. Magic isn't exactly new to me, but this is the first I've heard of it.

*sigh* And I've had a 'lot' of firsts in the last several weeks...

[He takes note of that winged orb, but doesn't seem all too put off by it - some kind of magical device or creature maybe? - but instead focuses on the question.]

The Magic Council is the ruling body of all mages in Fiore and beyond. It oversees and controls all legal Magic Guilds, enforces the laws they decide on and has the right to punish any magician they deem guilty of breaking the law.

[He halts for a moment, wondering about Allen's comment of 'not being new to magic'. After all...]

...Where I come from, this is common knowledge.

Not-so-common from the world I'm from, actually. [He scratches his chin in a sort of embarrassed kind of way.] The organization I worked for kind of knows all about it, though.

Right, Tim?

[The orb--hence identified as "Tim"--landed on his finger and seemed to gaze into the screen at the viewer. There are no discernible eyes, mouth, or any sort of a face. It does seem to possess four stubby, grasping hands, though.]

[The closest to a "face" it has is a vaguely cross-shaped symbol on the center of its body.]

[If Allen expected Jellal to be weirded out by 'Tim', well... there are many strange things in the world of magic and while he might not remember most of what he's seen in his lifetime, the impression has been pushed deeply enough to leave him unfazed of most beings/objects.

What catches his attention is the wording though, because well... world?]

What is the name of your home?

My home?

[Funny he asked.]

I don't have much of one, really. [He scratches the back of his head. His smile shows he's remembered something rather fondly, despite the sad undertones of his remark.]

But as to what place I came from? A place called "England". It's pretty small, though.

[He nods to himself, frowning lightly... 'England' doesn't ring a bell at all. His reply is quiet, almost more like a note to himself.]

...It must be pretty far from Fiore

Fiore?...

[That's....not a country he's heard of. Ever.]

Never heard of that, either. Not that I'm a master of geography or anything, but where is that?

...It's a Kingdom in Earth Land and neighbor to Bosco and Seven.

[ She wasn't sure what to say first. Magic Council? Was he from home? But then he was admitting to his sins... that was so brave. Much better than she could ever do...

So in the end, Satou can just be heard clapping. Unsure of what to say. ]

[He can't quite help sending her a rather bewildered look - he honestly has no idea what of his confession would warrant clapping. Especially since she doesn't seem all too sarcastic about it either.]

[ Oh- well---

now she's a weirdo. Who needs to explain herself and clear her good name! ]

Th-that's really amazing! Impressive, brave, um-! Being able to apologize like that, I mean!

[He still stares, then shakes - he doesn't really see anything particular impressive about it.]

It's easy to apologize for what I don't remember.

[If he were to remember, well... admittedly he is afraid to. Afraid of how it might change him.

Still, there's no doubt that she meant well.]

[ She knows what it feels like, at least somewhat. She's apparently done terrible things. She's apparently hurt, killed, and destroyed so much. Even though she doesn't remember it, Satou's too scared to try apologizing.

Apologizing would be admitting that she really did it. ]

I think you're super brave.

[Jellal only remembers small fragments of his past, and hardly anything that relates to what he has done, but he remembers Erza's outrage when he had told her that he didn't remember anything but her name... the things she had shouted at him... non of those could be forgiven.

He starts shaking his head, but then thinks better of it, hesitating for a moment before he asks:]

...Why do you think so?

Admitting that you did something wrong or bad... it's really hard, I think. You need to brave to recognize it.

...I-I guess so.

[He still isn't sure if he'd really use that word for it, but... he never exactly took the time to think about it either.

He's just doing what he thinks is right... what he hopes that Erza would want him to do.]
