[The voice that came over the network carried with it a haunting sort of familiarity to Kirika. Perhaps who she was might have been different, but it was still that girl's voice, tinny and full of restrained, enigmatic emotion.]

Did we prick our finger on a spindle, sleeping beauty?

[She had just arrived in this place, and here she heard the voice of someone so agonizingly familiar. Were it not for the fact that she did not know where Kirika was, she would be seeking her out already. For the moment, however, she could not resist making contact.

The rest of these people could wait. This one, this one she knew, and she deserved to know that she was here, and would be looking for her.]

[Kirika keeps the frequency audio in her end as well, and for a good reason too. Kirika's voice is kept quiet for a moment, shocked and breathless. Even the reference Chloe made didn't registered, only the voice.]

...Chloe?

[May have sounded questionable because it was the first time she had heard this voice, but something was different. Like a haunted chill rose up her spine.]

[Someone had done just a little bit of reading. This not being her first rodeo, she'd actually read the letter, and glanced over a few of the network posts in the past. There were more that bore reading, and she would be staying at a terminal in the library quite frequently to see how much she could learn of this new prison, but it gave her a vicious idea.]

Are you sure? Could I not be a figment of your imagination, Kirika... just another warped game this place is playing with you?

How would you ever know for sure?

[...even if it was an experiment, why would it have made a point? Even so, she had to made sure of it. If she's real, when was she pulled from? Before or after death? Congrats Chloe, Kirika is lost in thought. Perhaps it was something cooked from Jason. Then again, this is the appropriate time for arrivals.]

[She giggled again, the reedy tone of her voice sounding a little unhinged, but at the same time not completely mad.]

Wouldn't you like to know, my friend, but if I were to tell you where I was, who would have the advantage then? Why should I trust you with that little piece of information?

[There were thoughts of a barb and come-back. Chloe had several that she could have made right then, but she did not. The second statement took her back a little and she frowned. After knowing the Doctor and some of the conversations with other entities like him she'd had, she wondered what that might mean.]

And why should I believe that you are not my Kirika?

[There was a sound of something opening, and a tune that would have haunted the 'real' Kirika played in the background. Metallic sounds of the whirring of some ancient, wound stopwatch could be heard.]

[Before Kirika could speak, her breath was taken from the melody played on the other end. Although she recalled the melody in her dreams, it was the first time she had ever heard of it from her ears. It was also the first time the memory she buried surfaced.

Even though that last statement could be taken the wrong way, Kirika smiled in silent. When she spoke again, her tone was different, like she was grateful.]

I suppose it doesn't. [Least for now. It was nice to finally meet someone from that world, even though this one carried the burdened memory.]

[The music snapped shut abruptly with the click of a metal lid coming closed. The person on the other line did not speak, at least initially. Her breathing was thin, shallow and distant. It was taking her a moment to decide how or if to speak.

When she did, however, it was quiet, almost a purred whisper.]

[Kirika held her breath when the music was shut. There was silent on her end as well, distant. When Chloe asked, Kirika's answer didn't hesitate.]
