[Shion had KOS-MOS's trunk open, and held up her "christmas gift" outfit.]

KOS-MOS, did you know this was in here? It's technically an upgrade of what you're wearing now.

[~~Wow, nosy Shion.~~ KOS-MOS tilted her head slightly.]

I did not. The last time that I checked anything in the trunk was the day of my arrival and that was not what I left.

[The archetype outfit was left. Probably still in there too.]

[IT WAS, but Shion had pushed it aside, and pretended not to see it. INSTEAD, she began picking the new armor pieces out of the trunk and arranging them on the bed.]

How about it, KOS-MOS? Would you like to wear this instead?

[Are you really asking KOS-MOS if she'd like to do something, Shion? You should know that it won't be that easy.]

If you believe that my wearing it will improve my effectiveness, I do not see any reason not to.

[LEADING BY EXAMPLE... or well, trying to.]

Alright. We may have to use the workshop, because I'll need tools for some of it.

[She finished laying it all out, then stepped back to admire it for a moment.]

It will definitely improve your durability! ~~So no one will be able to shoot you in the head should you malfunction....~~

[And carry everything there because it's kind of a lot for Shion to carry.]

[She led the way! And even cleared off a table so KOS-MOS could put the parts down.]

So KOS-MOS, what have you been doing lately?

[Shion went searching in a drawer of tools as she spoke.]

[Just carrying everything quietly and setting it all out neatly for Shion since she had set everything out nicely on her bed.]

I have been exploring each floor and noting any differences in order to determine a pattern of change as well as to remain familiar with the tower. I have also been familiarizing myself with tower residents should the need arise to interact with them in regards to any important matters that arise.

Wow, it sounds like you've been really busy.

[She laid out a few tools, then started right away, moving KOS-MOS's hair to one side so she could begin to remove the old armor.]

You know, I think we-- Allen and I, are going to start working on a new maintenance bed for you. Well, it definitely won't be as fancy as what you had back at Vector, but I think it would be nice to have something more than a connection gear, right?

[And she stands completely still as Shion works.]

That would be appreciated. I do not believe that the equipment in the infirmary is adequate for keeping my systems appropriately powered.

I thought so. Hopefully it won't take too long! I think I've salvaged most of components already.

[Some pieces of KOS-MOS's outfit could be removed like clothing, and some were actually integrated with her frame. But somehow, the exact procedure was still fresh in Shion's mind, so she went through actions almost mechanically. Not having the right tools wasn't even that big of a hindrance.]

If you require any assistance in collecting components for it, I would be glad to help, Shion.

[Lalala, just chilling here and being completely still for Shion, letting her move her limbs however she needs to in order to change certain parts.]

Alright. Once Allen takes a look at what we have so far, we'll figure out if there's anything else we need.

[Once she got the top fourth off, she began to assemble the new outfit, and attach it. That way, KOS-MOS didn't have to stand around "naked" for too long.]

[If only modesty was one of the things KOS-MOS had been programmed with.]

I will make sure that I am easily contacted then, if you need me at all.

[She continued working quietly, and happily. And it probably took at least a couple hours to get all of the clothing changed out. But when she was finished, she took a step back and admired her work.]

Well? What do you think, KOS-MOS? I haven't seen this ourfit in quite a while either...

[And KOS-MOS remained patient. Once she was done though, KOS-MOS ran a quick scan over herself and nodded in approval.]

It will provide adequate defense for me while in combat here in the tower. Thank you, Shion.

You're welcome, KOS-MOS! Once we have some better equipment, a true upgrade might even be possible for you. We'll see what Allen and I can do with what we have here.

[She gave the android one last look over.]

Speaking of, it's probably time for me to meet Allen, anyway.

That would be appreciated but I do not believe the tower will have the necessary equipment for such an undertaking.

[Not that KOS-MOS would stop Shion. She was such a stubborn human. And then she gets a nod because KOS-MOS is finished so there's no reason to stop her.]

I will continue to patrol the tower.

Hey, you'd be surprised by some of the things I've found. Besides, you never know what might pop up.

[She shook her head, then briefly rested her hand on KOS-MOS's shoulder.]

[The android attempts a smile for Shion's sake but it's not very convincing.]

Certainly. Well, she might not have been the same exact KOS-MOS as the one I travelled with back home, but nearly identical. Reckon a girl like that's one of a kind.

She was stuck in my world, the Endless Frontier due to craziness with Cross Gates. Helped her get back to her own time and world... Though she didn't leave without taking part in saving the world. Girl's a hell of a fighter.

[That's okay! Shion really doesn't even notice flirting! But she did bring her hand to her chin thoughtfully.]

Really? I never heard anything about that. Maybe it was some sort of time anomaly like here in the tower...

Catch on quick there, Shion. I like that. Certainly was. Though I don't think it was the same type of thing as this tower, though...You ever hear of Cross Gates...?

As for KOS-MOS...She was trying to get back to her own time, which was thousands of years into the future, apparently. Reuniting with you was her top priority.

Cross Gates? No, I don't think I've ever heard of anything called that specifically.

But that does sound like KOS-MOS.

They're gates used to travel between dimensions. There's not much more to it than that, not many in our world knew how they worked.

Few of my other travelling partners knew her even before we got acquainted...from my understanding, they were from years and years in the past from your world... or vice versa. It was strange really, but I guess that's the norm when dealing with these things.

There was another another smokin' hot robo-girl that looked almost exactly like KOS-MOS as well. Had darker skin though, and she wasn't exactly the friendliest of the bunch.
