Greetings, everyone. If we have not met, my name is Sephiran. If you are new, welcome to the tower. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and I will answer.

I come with an important announcement: today marks my 200th year in the tower. My 200th year of punishment from Ashera. [Yes, he's still convinced that his goddess sent him here.] These centuries have been trying, to say the least. I have endured countless experiments and traumas, and even a few deaths. Well, more than a few, really, but after a while, you lose count...

Nonetheless, I would like to say something. I have met many people over the course of my time here, all very intriguing people. To all of you people here... thank you. You have made my stay here almost enlightening. The people here are most certainly the best part of this place, and it makes me wonder if this is not just a punishment, but a lesson for me...

As for the new people here, I say this: talk to those around you. Learn their stories. They will most likely become your support as you stay in the tower.

Ah, hello again, Rise. Yes, I have been been in this tower for 200 years. I will endure this punishment for as long as I need to, even if it is for eternity... I suppose that, after what I did, I should expect that.

It's been ten years. I remember you arriving here, barely after I did.

Ten years...? How is that possible? I do have memories of you greeting me upon my arrival to the tower, but I'm afraid I don't understand how it could have been ten years for you and 200 for me.

Perhaps you have been moved in time?

Moved in time...? What do you mean? I don't think I've heard of such a thing...

Either one of us has been, or one of us cannot calculate the time here.

Does time flow differently for different people here? This is an odd discrepancy.

That is one explanation. Perhaps I am the one missing time.

Or perhaps not... please explain what you meant earlier about being "moved in time."

Our time frames don't match. So I considered that I must be further ahead than I was, or perhaps you have been moved back 190 years.

A wonderful source. I don't think I could've let myself live this long if I didn't have so many friends.

I could say the same. The people here have kept me from just apathetically enduring trial after trial. They are something to look forward to each day.

Yes... you could say that. All these people contribute the the world that is the tower in their own way. Their personalities all make this tower, in a sense, so vivid.

No matter what the reason they had for bringing us here, I'm glad the administrators chose us. I'm glad I met everyone.

And I would say the same goes for you?

Yes. I suppose that coming here was the best fate I could ask for, given the circumstances.

But what's this about the administrators choosing us? For what?

Mm, I've heard that they choose certain people for a reason. But I dunno that reason.

I was to be punished by my goddess for failing to maintain the thousand-year peace we had agreed on. Especially so, since I was the one who worked to destroy that peace for the sake of bringing about the goddess's judgment...

Was the Goddess's peace a false one? Where everyone had to sacrifice their free will?

[Rei knows too much about that sort of peace. She would have shattered it too.]

No... it was a natural peace, like any other. In order to bring about the Goddess's judgment, I had to cause a continent-spanning war. Granted, it was a rather uneasy peace to begin with, but the fact remains that I worked to destroy it.

So why did you invite the Goddess's wrath needlessly?

[She frowns, struggling to understand the logic behind it.]

You know of Ashera? You aren't from Tellius, perhaps, are you? Ashera is our goddess in Tellius.

Everyone who believes more than a year has passed believes a different amount of time has passed, and some...like me, have experienced no "extra" time. I believe this is his work.

Though...I've seen many lands where Ashera is worshiped, but I'm afraid I haven't heard of Tellius. It's the name those lands often give the feminine aspect of God. The "Mother", if you will.

Ah? Is that so? So no one is capable of keeping the passage of time straight? I'm not sure I entirely understand.

So you have a different Ashera, then... that's quite a coincidence.

It is. Odd, how two higher beings have the same name. If your world is called Earth, maybe she is related after all.

But the time... Some of their bodies have been altered, too, to reflect the aging they believe should have happened.

My world... on the whole, it does not have a name. All the continents save Tellius were flooded.

So people have been aged, and their perception of time has been altered?

So it seems. Some are and think they are twenty years older, and others...have the look of eternity about them.

This look of eternity... what would you say it looks like? Do I have that look about me?

It's...hard to put into words. It may be something in the eyes, something that shows they've lived too long...
