001 ❀ Time is quite the killer when you're left behind
[The camera turns on to a red-haired girl dressed all in white. Chidori's in the midst of putting some of her hair up with the two small (and hopefully fake) swords in her hands, motions swift and practiced. Precise. She stares down the camera of the computer, her face an impressive blank, and settles her hands elegantly in her lap as she finishes with her hair. When she speaks, her voice is quiet and practically as impassive as her expression.]
To my... mysterious benefactor.
[There's a shift in her expression, subtle but nearly palpable, and her golden eyes narrow slightly.]
If you saved me, and you did not save them, then believe me, no one will save you.
[Her expression returns to full neutrality then, and she seems to hesitate before speaking again.]
Minato, Jin, Ken. If you are here, I am in 1-19.
Don't keep me waiting.
[That is as much as she apparently deems fit to say, and she doesn't hesitate again before turning the camera off.]

[ACTION] because what else did you even expect anyway.
Is it true? Is it really her? Was this another trick of the tower?
But when he stops outside the door, perhaps just a BIT out of breath, as he sees her fixing her hair, he knows it's her. It's Chidori, not her phantom, not an impostor.
Not being one for many words, of course, Minato's silence isn't unusual, but it is... strained with concern and delicacy. When he finally speaks, his voice is quiet. ]
... You're okay.
[ ... He was so worried, worried they might have really died-- ]
[ACTION] no less
That's one less to worry about.
Her expression lightens slightly, lips taking the barest tilt upward, and she moves forward across the room to stand in front of him.]
...and so are you.
[ACTION FOREVER?] ;u; fdlf ahhh
There was, admittedly, relief at that. Moreover, he was responsible for Chidori as much as the others. ]
I haven't found the others yet.
[ A pause, but it's brief. ] Though they might arrive here later.
[ Of course, it goes unsaid that he believes this. That they are okay. Hopes it, with all his heart. ]
[AND EVER] ;~; aaaahhh
I will help, of course.
[If Minato himself couldn't find her, then maybe she and Medea could- it was all she could do, in fact, to keep herself from sitting back down and doing so.]
Is it true?
[Had their world really ended, despite their best efforts to stop it? The thought was disheartening in more ways than one.]

I don't buy it.
[ If that was the case, how was it they could have pulled Chidori herself here? But in case it needed further elaboration... ]
... I've been here for weeks now. And the leader of SEES was here.
[ But she disappeared. Or, at least, he hasn't seen her lately, anyway. It's a small warning, really; that more may show up. To be careful. ]

[Chidori's face hardens just a little at that- she's not a fan of Minami, of how she manages to get under Minato's skin... But if Minato doesn't buy it then neither does she. To be fair, she hadn't really bought it to begin with, but his words only confirm her belief that there's something other than what they're told going on.]
We will be careful then.
['We', not 'I'- because she knew Minato needed to be reminded that he needed to exercise caution sometimes as well.]
Have you been alright?

They have Suppressors here.
[ Which in itself was... very suspicious, but what could they do? They DID need them, after all. ]
And you should be able to use Medea here, even without the Dark Hour.

[Surprising and suspicious that this place should be so well-stocked- but she's grateful that Minato at least, won't suffer from the lack of them. Her hand rises, settles briefly on his arm, and her eyes stray from his and over his shoulder at the hallway outside.]
I should get my bearings.
[A request, of sorts, to be shown around while she mulled over the idea of using Medea at any time of the day other than the Dark Hour. Lips pursing, she cut her eyes back to the trunk at the foot of the bed she'd woken on, and turned to recover her axes from it.
Simply because she could use Medea didn't mean she should- and while she'd rather not use her axes on anyone, one could never be too careful.]
Shall we?

A silent nod to show his approval. He would go with her and tell her whatever necessary. He didn't need to be someone else with Chidori or be forcedly friendly or try to comfort her--this was his friend.
His teammate.
... Really, if he were honest, she was worth the whole tower twice over to him. ]

You can't honestly believe that the world has been destroyed and some mysterious figure saved us. Are you that naive?

[Chidori's face remains impassive, though there is a slight hint of annoyance at the perceived insult in her tone.]
The things people in this place tell me are not among them.

It is difficult to believe they would know of any impending doom if they did not have a part in it.

[She doesn't yet trust this tower to be safe- no matter how much she wants her friends there, she won't condemn them to a fate worse than what theirs may already be.]
