I have two things to speak of today, starting with the one directed to the residents of this Tower as a whole.
[She holds up a striped billiard ball from the bar on the 88th Floor.]
I wish to learn to play this game. Who can teach me?
[She then idly rolls the ball in her fingers as she continues.]
As for the other matter, it is directed to those from my world or a variation of it where a specific war takes place involving magi. With Rider gone, his ridiculous idea of a conclave amongst us to discuss the War and those of us involved in it should also disappear.
Though I understand why the King of Conquerors wished for the gathering, it was folly to believe such a thing could ever happen and remain peaceful. There are worst fates than a death that does not take here. I know that there was one that had been planning to use Rider's conclave as means to gaining power with all gathered in one location. Had Rider carried his meeting out before his disappearance, I would have seen to neutralizing that threat.
Should another of you be foolish enough to pursue this idea, I will not and you will reap what you sow.

Stay out of this, Gailardia. You're hiding enough from him.
[And that one is probably not going to endear him to Luke later. Oh fucking well. He never asked for his replica to like him.
So he just sharps towards Luke with a sharp exhale. Really, Luke, if there's one thing you're a genius at it's not realizing the things you don't want to think about. What do what do - ]

Really. Really. To stoop that low right now, when Asch himself had gone and done something so brutally stupid like spilling something like that to someone he claimed to want away from Luke. Stupidity. Stupidity, stubborness, every inch of the god damn Fabre he kept holding his nose high over and pretending not to be--]

[First, Asch was calling Guy by some weird name, and then Guy was knocking him flat. Not that he didn't appreciate seeing that right now, but... who the heck was Gailardia?]
G-Guy...?

With a burst of prana, the knight in black jagged armor, glowing red veins through it, and a similar visor shielding her eyes was standing over Luke, a half-step between him and the other redhead just in time to see the blonde man Saber did not know take a swing at Asch.
She stopped there, partially shielding Luke, and watched. As much as she wanted to cut Asch down, the man was unarmed and she was not going to draw Excalibur upon him. So, silent and unmoving, the knight stood with her hands ready to summon her sword if needed.
She spoke not a word, but her dark prana was gathered and she did not even try to contain her tremendous power level or the terror her Charisma rank tended to instill. Her five foot tall stature did nothing to reduce that.
She would keep Luke safe.]
isszat our post order then?
Asch snarls, wheeling on Guy.]
What, don't like it? It's the truth. You all say I'm treating him like a child, but last I checked, I'm the only person who tells him anything. But how dare I ruin your pampered little fantasy land, with the Luke who loves you and trusts you. How dare I not play along with the ideal world you managed to create for yourself.
[And then she's there, and fuck everything, just fuck it all.]
I'm sick of it. I'm sick of being the one who has to take the fall for telling Luke the truth.
[But obviously that's not changing, is it? Asch glances around, at Saber and at Luke behind her, and then returns his glare to Guy.]
If this is how you treat your best friend, then I'm glad it's him and not me.
Unless things call for otherwise, I am totally ok with that.
How similar you both really are in the end, Asch.]
Forget the way you treat him, because I'm really not sure your actions even get you out of that boat. I can't believe you! You're a child acting like he knows everything!!
I don't care which world of ideals you ignore or whose rules you decide to play along with in the end, Asch, alright?? This isn't just about you, but you're going and making everything about you! Are you even listening to yourself?? Truth has a time and a place, every person alive knows that! And the bastard you are, you decide to pick the worst time and the worst place to tell what you deem as truth just waiting to be told, not because it's right, but just because you can.
[He swears under his breath, his grip against his sword is dangerously tight, nails digging against the leather and knuckles going white. This, this, THIS is the reason he hates you, Asch. THIS is the goddamn reason. Not for anything his father might have done, but for the fact that his son, even after years of separation, wasn't even TRYING to be anything better.
His jaw sets.]
If you're really that entitled, then don't you dare doubt you're every inch of a Fabre. I don't care what you've else you've lost. Looks like you're never getting rid of that.

[Saber was there, and she was like a rock in front of him, something he was grateful for. He shuffled up, huddling closer to her, though peering out around her to see what was going on, much like the child that Asch said he was. It was hard to react any other way, considering the current situation.]
no subject
...she hated her code and her honor sometimes. She didn't -want- to have to defend Asch, but she didn't know if the blonde man would be justified in attacking with more than his fists and words.
The knight said nothing still, very much the rock as Luke thought, but she did move just the slightest when she felt him move closer. She wished he would stand and grow stronger, but she knew he was upset, possibly still in pain and learning about those deaths...
She reached her left hand back just enough to gently lay it upon the top of Luke's head. It was there for a second at most before she took it away and fully focused on the argument before her.]
no subject
I never claimed to know everything! But I'm not going to sit back and pretend I know nothing, either!
[A glance at Luke, perfectly timed to see Saber's little gesture - he's frothing, inside emotions he can't put words to and doesn't want to put words to.
This is stupid. This is inevitable. This is why he didn't bother trying to go home, because everyone'd already chosen the one they wanted. He's just left to burn, and the glare he's laying on Guy has every bit of that heat.]
Your idea of the right time to tell the truth is "never" and we both know it. Quit trying to take the high road and pretend otherwise.
[He's already shed all there is to burn. Ashes and ashes and bones.]
If he hates me for it, that's fine. But I won't lie to him the way you do. I won't pretend to be anyone but who I am.
no subject
This isn't about me, Asch. Don't you dare go making it about me.
[His choices for his life were his for a reason. Just because he hid them didn't make them lies.]
Didn't I just say something about you not listening to yourself? You say all this and yet you're doing an awful lot of pretending. What you claim and how you act are two completely different things. You say you don't care, and yet you're in Luke's business more often than anyone can count. You pull a stunt like this - putting yourself forward like someone who has Luke's best interests at heart, like someone who wants to legitimately protect someone you apparently don't care about from someone that you have no reason to trust - and yet you go and spill information like that to this stranger without any thought to what it might do!
Where is the line drawn, Asch? Tell me. Where is it truth of yours going to make any sort of difference if you can't learn to think instead of trying to juggle this... this mess that you thinks deserves to be hated. The only person you're fooling is yourself!
no subject
[Luke's voice is soft, still half hiding behind Saber. He didn't want to speak up, but...]
...for someone that's saying you tell me the truth, you're... doing a lot of lying. Anyone could tell you actually do care more than you let on.
no subject
Good. They could punch the hell out of each other for all she cared.
She did turn her head a bit toward Luke when he spoke up. She nodded, agreeing with him, before looking back. It was still not her place to speak.]
KEYWORDS 5EVER
...I didn't lie. No matter what you think of me, my emotions won't change.
[And just... Yeah, he's done. Turning on his heel and walking off, with one hand on his sword and the scraps of his dignity.
If nothing else, he knows when he's not wanted.]
no subject
Especially since he knew Luke was right behind him.
When Asch is finally out of sight, Guy lets himself relax, and it visibly shows. His expression wavers on a calm neutral as he turns, finally acknowleding the woman that stood guard over Luke with a silent nod before looking down at Luke.
His eyes soften, and he lowers himself down on one knee, keeping his distance but still trying to keep eye contact with his young master.]
Are you alright, Luke?
no subject
[...and Guy...?]
[He looked up at his best friend, looking lost and helpless and not sure what to do and what to say.]
Guy... what did he mean? Who's 'Gailardia?'
no subject
In Camelot, she had judged men unerringly. That was before the corruption settled into her heart and her ability to deen the truth of the matter, much less know what was clearly right and wrong, had become harder to discern. Regardless, she did not want him close to Luke.
When she spoke, there was no emotion in her voice.]
Yes. Answer to Asch's words.
no subject
What to say and what not to say here... it was a hard choice.
But he could at least start with the obvious. No point in holding it back now.
...]
It's me. Gailardia is my first name.
no subject
...and what does that mean to me?
[A feeling of dread settled in the pit of Luke's stomach, as if it already knew that he wasn't going to like the answer to this.]
no subject
That sounds like a family name passed down through generations. A typical practice among old families of noble blood.
no subject
[Her comment also means that there's one less thing he can talk through. He can feel his stomach tighten as he turns back to the redhead, but he still lets his words come easily.]
Believe it or not, Luke, I haven't always worked for His Grace. I haven't always been a servant. War just changes things. Sometimes you have to go places and do things you wouldn't normally do. That's just how you survive.
no subject
I don't understand...
no subject
There is always the case in which family pride drives a man to take on a task his father was unable to accomplish. Not all of those are noble tasks.
no subject
[Saber, your intelligence on this particular subject is unsettling and hitting far too close to home for comfort. Guy keeps silent for a long moment, choosing his words carefully. He doesn't want to jump into details about this. Not now, not with what was already on Luke's mind. Why give him one more thing to worry over?]
I told you before, right? I haven't stayed with you this whole time just because you were my master. I'd like to think we're friends, regardless of what name we might have ended up with.
[Yes, Mister "I'm not really Luke", this is a gentle jab at you.]
no subject
I want to think we're friends too, but...
[...but what Asch was implying was ringing loudly in his mind. Guy... was Guy, was his best friend, hiding something important from him?]
...i-if Asch is claiming he's always telling me the truth, shouldn't my best friend do that too?
