On weakness

[So Nesir has been avoiding people for the most part, annoyed at the grief for Dax, angry at the fact her soul was trapped, but she's also going crazy with nerves about her part in the infiltration in a few days and she has a question she's been thinking about since she met Kuwabara.

She doesn't even have to pretend to look pale and worried]

Hello, my name do be Nesir Aeser and I do be having something to talk about. I do be aware that there do many people from many worlds here and we all do be different and having different strengths and weaknesses. But lately I did be coming across a worrying weakness and was wondering how many people did be sharing it.

Apparently there do be people who can no be fighting women. I do no be knowing if this do be some kind of curse, or just something in a different world that do be a problem. But I am sure I do no be needing to explain how people with this weakness are going to be in more danger than the rest of us, considering everything..

[As in: Ruana is a woman, Nesir actually doesn't care about most people, and is just interested in this concept, but it should be enough to worry others.] I do no be knowing if there would be a way to lift the curse, but I do be offering my help to anyone with similar problems who do be wanting to be overcoming this.

I'm not one of those people, and I cannot speak for all worlds, but in mine, women are...

*A pause to find the right words. It was a complex sort of thing as all such conventions seemed from the inside. In reality it was quite simple, of course.*

...often the source of a man's fondest memories, in mothers and wives. As well, they're the bearers of life - men are afraid combat would damage them beyond the ability to have children.

*Enoch smiles a little.* Though...in all my years, I've found women - and men as well - are much stronger than anyone gives them credit for. God's design is not so fragile.

'Can't fight women'..? Kyahaha, weird, isn't that so weiiird..? The guys who claim that are usually the first to try and smack you across the face a moment later!

[ Bitter? Evatrice? Obviously. ]

People who can't fight women? That's... really bloody weird. I've never met anyone like that before...

.. And it sounds like a pretty annoying curse to have, so hopefully there's a way to lift it.

Yeah. Nearly all of the women I know are fighters, and they are pretty damn strong ones too. And with who is in charge here, not being able to attack women is a huge weakness.

[ahahahah no way she's talking to someone face to face after the dax thing and on a subject like this n o p e]

its from some stupid dated form of chivalry
way back when in the land of history and crusade murder the dudes were always the one suiting up in their shiny suits of armor and going out to kick each others asses while the chicks were stayin home to watch the kids and the peasants
so everyone thinks that girls cant stand up and fight on their own so the guys have to protect them!
which really just degrades to thinking they're not good enough for anything really
so they wont hit a girl because girls are weaker than them and itd be unfair

[wow excuse you]

the point was to go beat up the fuckers that would threaten to pillage and plunder before they got to the town
some dudes would stay behind and guard everything but basically all the women and children were supposed to be protected i guess
i dunno whose idea it was i guess it came from some reasoning behind the chicks being the ones giving birth?
i dont know i spaced out during prehistory history
its unfair cause no one expected the girls to get any stronger than that so it was basically just like bullying weaklings from their point of view

It is a matter of keeping them from harm, but...yes, they are not fragile at all.

Eh? There's nothing wrong at all at being a fighting woman. One of the strongest people I know is a fighting woman!

It's not a curse, I can assure you that. It just comes from the horribly old and stupid idea that women can't match up to men when it comes to that sort of stuff.

[ Obvious feminist over here.. ] So.. yeah, in a way it's definitely like a trick. The worst kind of trick thought up by chauvinist pigs!

[Lancelot gives a shake of his head, his face disapproving.]

A man would truly be a fool to think himself unrivaled by a woman. No man, no warrior, of worth would judge an opponent by such an inaccurate measure. I have known women who would strike mortal fear in the heart of any wise and battle-tried man. Has someone misjudged you so, Nesir Aeser?
