➻ 01 [video/action on the second floor] (Spring)
[Well, if this isn't the most pathetic sight you've seen on this network.]
[There's something on the screen looks like an extremely dirty mop of a person...before you realize that oh, wait, that isn't a mop, that's his hair. Sam Erstwhile seems soaked to the bone, wet hair plastered to his face as he gazes in utter misery at the camera. And when he begins speaking, his voice shakes and shudders, as if ready to crack any moment.]
H-honestly, I do like the rain, I really do. It's nice, after a period of warmth and all, and water is good in general, for plants and things, but...
[He holds up what looks like a couple of seriously waterlogged books- if you can make out the titles on the damp covers, they say "Children's and Household Tales" and "D'Aulaire's Book of Greek Myths".]
[Sam, in the meantime, looks like he's on the verge of crying and adding to the water already dripping down his face.]
Please, I don't know if there's anyone out there, but the rain..it's getting to my books! My books started getting water on them in the chest I had them in and...oh god, oh god, I don't want to lose them...
Somebody, please help me save them, I really don't want to throw them away! But I don't know what to do, I've never had this happen before...
[He seems oddly unconcerned to the fact that he's a lot more soaked than his fairy tales are, but at the moment he just hugs the books to his chest, as if that will protect them from the pouring rain.]
Why did this have to happen...?
[And anyone on the second floor will see him shuffling around in a slight panic, unsure what to do about this whole situation. Sure, he would take rain any day, he loved water, but when it ruined the things he owned? There would be no love to be found in that case.]

+1 Asshole
Suck it up and take the loss. Your crying be the worst part of the whole ordeal.

[And what's even more infuriating is that he has to keep up the pathetic little wimp disguise, lest somebody notices he's acting in a way he's not supposed to.]
S-shut up. This is an important issue, okay?
no subject
Aye, I can see that, hugging a few books like ye just lost your best friend. Sad. [His tone is mocking, and he looks anything but sorry for him.]
no subject
Well, you don't know how important they are to me, okay?! So...just shut up.
no subject
One would think if ye read as much as ye seem to, ye'd have a bit more sense.
no subject
I have sense, I put them in the chest where I thought water would never get inside, and guess what? It somehow got inside. Now I have no place to put them.
So sorry, it's not about sense as much as it is about finding a place which is actually waterproof, thank you very much.

[Ooh, whoah that's too far- his voice rises to the point where it sounds like it's almost going to crack from pure annoyance.]
Because excuse me, y-you half-baked pirate, we're not on a boat anymore!
video because asa's yolo
...Sorry, I'm no good with this. I'll try to help if I can, though.
video
[He looks around, trying to find something, anything, that isn't as soaked as they are.]
No, um, no, that's really helpful of you! I mean, here I was thinking no one would help at all...
video
[Man good luck. ;w;]
Mm, from what I can tell, most people aren't that mean. Mostly.
video
[A sad little shrug.] They've always been to me.
Re: video
[She makes a quiet, sympathetic noise.] Oh, I'm sorry.
video
[A slight shake of the head.] No, it's okay, you don't have to be...it's something I'm used to, honestly.
video
You should not be carrying them on your person, as they are already water damaged. [ Sorry, there is nothing no one can do to save those books now! ] You should have prevented this.
video
Besides, how was I supposed to know this would happen??
no subject
Obviously you weren't supposed to know it would happen, however living in this tower— you would have to be prepared for anything.
If that is something I am already aware of. [ There's good advice within her words, somewhere. ]
no subject
[He groans and pinches the bridge of his nose, looking exasperated.]
I'm new, okay? I mean...I was here for a month, but still, I'm really getting used to things around here and how they work...
no subject
Then, welcome to the tower. [ Not that it was much of a happy welcome, for good reason. ] You will learn, soon enough.
no subject
Yeah, thanks. I'm learning already that this place hates me like nothing else.
no subject
Most could say that the tower despises them as well, but then since I have been here. . The weather has not changed, not as vastly as this. [ A pause. ] I'm sure it is another one of their mind games.
However, the weather will pass.
no subject
Mind games? Well, the rain isn't too bad...how in the world does weather play mind games? last time I checked, a little rain didn't make anyone go insane. I think.

[THE PROFESSOR IS ON THE CASE]
[When he managed to find the person who made the video, the green-suited teacher with sunglasses sitting on his head sent out a makeshift umbrella; mobile liquid mercury. It extended from the floor and formed itself into a sort of roof over Sam's head.]
How badly damaged are they?
[Wasting no time, of course.]
[action]
[But he gapes at the mercury umbrella, blinking as he tries to figure out what is going on, before glancing over at the person who made it.]
Oh! Oh, um...[He holds them up.] The water is almost to the inner pages, the cover has already been soaked, so...I don't know how long it'll be until it's completely waterlogged...
[action]
Well, I was expecting worse. Now that we've gotten the rain off them directly, maybe we can dry them out a little.
[action]
[He stares at the books in Waver's hands, obviously concerned, like a child giving away their hurting pet to a veterinarian and wondering what they would do to help. After that second part, he nods.]
Oh, great, great, but...where? Everywhere I go is wet.
[action]
[action]
[Wow, this tower was huge, he'd never get used to it.]
But okay, how do we dry it here, then? Is there a certain procedure or what?
[action]
[action]
You can't start a fire anywhere here, it's too wet. Unless you want to move them to the lockers and set the fire there?
[action]
[action]
[And he falls silent and nods, looking pathetically happy as he walks closer to the other man to be covered by the umbrella.]
[action]
[He turned and walked out, the mercury sliding right along at his side to keep them both relatively dry.]
I don't think I got yours.
[action]
Sam. Sam Erstwhile...A pleasure.
[action]
[Wow, someone's touchy.]
It's nice to meet you.
[action]
[His voice wavering, he shakes his head and holds up a hand apologetically.]
I mean, I've heard stranger, there's no need to get upset...
[action]
[Waver rather suddenly felt like he was dealing with a new student of the Clock Tower. Most of the ones who didn't know any better were either scared out of their minds of him or simply didn't dare cross his path.]
[A good reputation was a wonderful thing.]
I didn't mean to scare you. Guess I'm just a little on edge here.
[action]
Okay. Yeah. Um...god, I'm sorry. [A pause.] If you don't mind me asking, though, why are you on edge? Because of the rain?
[action]
[action]
[He almost wants to burst out laughing at the giant squid thing, because a) it would never survive unless completely submerged and b) like he would be terrified of something like that, being what he actually is. But all he does instead is look incredibly nervous, as if the mental image is enough to give him nightmares.]
Giant squids...I mean, I really would hope not. I've had enough of the rain, I don't want my life to be put in danger as well...
[action]
[action]
So...I'll definitely keep that in mind, thanks.
[action]
[action]
ok wow why did I not throw the nice horrorterror at this guy earlier ACTION
And then she sees the shuffling person as she gets to the second floor. Right, right, not everyone is plants, and too much water can-- oh dear.]
Are you all right?
I DON'T KNOW let's be horrorterror bffs ACTION FOREVER
[He turns out and lets out a slight gasp when he sees her, taking a few steps backward, before he realizes that oh, that isn't some large plant-like monster and it's friend...it is human. Kind of.]
[He blinks a few times, before glancing down at the ground, murmuring:]
Y-yeah, I'm fine, it's just...[A slight whimper as he holds his books close, like they're his wounded pets.] I don't know how to save these at all...
SOUNDS LEGIT
Hmm...Do you have an umbrella or something? That's what people use to keep the rain away, right?
no subject
[He shakes his head morosely.] No, not that I know of.
