[More images of tattooed hands, the same as in his last post. He's still working on that "positioning himself in focus" thing.]

I've no desire to use this technology any more than I have to. It's only more magic by another name. But I have a question, and it needs to be asked.

[He finally moves himself properly into focus, leaning over the terminal.]

I've seen complaints about victims of the tower who share their names, but this is different. Has the tower been known to alter memories? If one man remembers one path of events, and his friend another, could that be the doing of the demons and mages who control this place?

I cannot be the only one so afflicted. Tell me. Does this place change a person before they even arrive?

Apologies good elf for the slowness.

A young lady here says she knows me, but I'm an old man in her time.

... so then you're speaking of some sort of alternate time? Or that is what it would allude to.

Honestly I cannot answer that. I wish any of this made sense though.

Ah, alternate time is... well to put it in basic terms it would be time as you know it, but altered in some ways. It could be small alterations or large, but something is different compared to what you know. Like as you said, people remembering things differently, but they are from the same time as you.

I'm not sure taking this casually is what I'd call it, but when I've been brought to a strange Tower with people from other worlds and told my own world has been destroyed...

Alternate timelines really aren't much more of a leap in things I have to believe. I also have a friend here who is apparently from a time a little before my own, so I am some what already past the surprise of it all.
