This collar is is what corrects a brain injury and allows him to move and speak, as well as use his powers, but he's not going to go into that, at least not unless you're nosy and start asking questions. He seems particularly agitated at the moment.]

I'd almost believe the bastards that run this tower were from Academy City. It'd be just like Academy City to kidnap people and tell them they can't go home for whatever bullshit reason. I'm guessing a lot of people here have some kind of powers, and that the shitheads that run this tower aren't just letting us live here in peace, right?

[He pauses a moment and lets out an irritated sigh.]

We're either being forced to train for fighting or we're being experimented on, right? Maybe even both. That reeks of Academy City to me. Sorry for ruining your fun if that was supposed to be a surprise or plot twist or something boring like that. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong and this bullshit tower doesn't have some kind of ulterior motive, but from what I've been through, that isn't gonna be the fucking case.

You're correct about the administrators not letting people live in peace. What their ulterior motive is, I don't know, but some of them certainly seem to enjoy making the residents of the tower miserable. Given that the worlds the residents come from are supposed to be gone now, though, I strongly doubt the tower is connected to your Academy City.

As for experimentation, I'm not sure. I'm a relatively recent arrival myself, and am still trying to gather information.

I'm the only one as strong as me, although there are six others that are Level 5's and many Level 4's with a good bit of strength to their power. As for whether or not they were born with their power or Academy City pulled it out of them, I couldn't say. I'm thinking the Level 5's were born with their powers.

Yeah, although they can be related. As far as I know, no two espers' power will work exactly the same way, even if they do very similar things.

I've heard rumors they've tried for force people to have powers like mine. But Academy City is full of rumors. Some of them purposefully leaked to throw off the scent.
