[The face on the camera is tired, the look in Diarmuid's eyes making it clear that the source of his weariness isn't physical, but mental and emotional as it so often has been since he arrived here.]

Has anyone see my brother? Ah...you probaly know him better as Lancer. I know he is still in the tower because his belongings are here and his name is still on the door, but I cannot find him anywhere and I have looked. Those who know my skills know quickly I can do that.

I am worried because I just remembered something he said to Jason a while back. He said he would volunteer for his next experiement and since this is Jason's month in charge and so many others have gone missing, I fear for what that means for him.

If anyone has seen him in the last few days, will you please let me know?

[Diarmuid pauses a moment, suddenly looking a lot more uneasy.]

Also, I want to apologize to all the people who were affected by my curse about week ago or got caught up in everything that was going on. For those who don't know, I carry a curse that forces the women who see my face to fall in love with me. It has been mostly inactive in this place but for some reason during the end of March and the beginning of April it flared back to life affecting both men and women. Unfortunately, I have never been able to tell when it is active and when it is not so far too many people were affected before I knew what was going on.

I...do not know why this happened. It has gone inactive again and I think by this time all those affected should have had the effects wear off. If not, take the knowledge that your strange feelings are caused by something outside of you and focus on that...

[Suddenly, he turns away from the screen as if someone has tugged on his arm, which they have. When he speaks his voice is quieter and directed at whoever is standing just off camera.]

Tony, just a moment, okay? I will play with you then.

[Diarmuid turns back to the camera, quiet for a moment as if he is collecting his thoughts and then continues where he left off.]

Focusing on the fact that your feelings are not your own will help you overcome the effects sooner. It is not something that worked that well during my first life, but there is a very strong pattern of it working here...

[There is a sudden scuffling behind Diarmuid and he is yanked away from the camera. The scuffling continues as his voice drifts back toward the terminal.]

Tony! Tony wait! I'm not done...

Gah! Does anyone know how to stop an alien abduction?

Is this still about the dishes, Lady Colette? You really have nothing to be sorry for. It was my pleasure to help you out.

Oh.....that? No, I was talking about that curse you had. I should have known. [All those tarts left outside your door, Diarmuid. ALL THOSE TARTS.;_;]

Diarmuid shakes his head, still smiling.]

Oh! You are a great cook, Lady. I very much enjoyed the treats you left me. Not all the people who left me things were so...successful. I am just sorry that you wasted so much effort on me because of my curse.

I should have been more careful. It must have been so embarrassing for you. [Habit Colette has: Blaming herself for things that aren't her fault.]

Please, Lady Colette. None of this was your fault. Besides, had it not been for my curse, we may not have met.

[Diarmuid smiles at her again.]

Would it not be nicer to focus on making new friends then worrying about changing something that cannot be changed now? Besides, I really did enjoy the tarts you left me. I am slowly learning how to cook. Perhaps you would be willing to show me how to make them sometime?

[Colette still feels awful for what she did and would not have blamed Diarmuid if he did not want to see her again. However, this man said that he wanted to put that behind him and be friends.

Well, it would be rude not to return the favour. Diarmuid does seem like a really kind person, anyway.]

W-well, if you're sure, Mister....[And she smiles.]

Oh, and you don't have to call me 'Lady' Colette. Just 'Colette' is okay.

Diarmuid, just call me Diarmuid. The 'Mister' isn't necessary. And if you prefer I don't use 'Lady' for you then I will try and remember that. It was a mark of respect in my day and one I still use now, though I know not everyone is comfortable with titles.

[He gives her a silly little smile.]

Please forgive me if I forget on occasion for a while.

Okay then, Diarmuid! [She's just less comfortable with titles since she has been called 'Chosen' and various related titles all her life. Colette feels awful for admitting it but if there is one good thing about this place? People call her 'Colette' and treat her like a person, not as the world's saviour.]

One day, we should cook tarts together and give them to everyone!

I would like that very much, Colette!

[Diarmuid smile grows much wider.]

Just think of how many people that would make happy and happiness is so rare here. I try to spread it whenever I can. Sometimes the gestures may only be small, but those small things can be what keeps a person going in hard times.

That's just what I was thinking.....I can't bear to see everyone suffer in this place and I want to do my best to help them as much as I can! In the meantime, while we're figuring out how to get out of here, I'm going to do as much as I can to make them suffer as little as possible!

Indeed, and every hand that helps out makes it that much easier on everyone else. I am glad that we met, even though it was under less than ideal circumstances. I hope you will be willing to come to me for help should you ever need it. The more we work together, the harder it will be for the administrators to pull us apart.

Of course, Diarmuid! [Colette is a good liar. She generally doesn't like telling people her worries if she thinks it'll burden them.] And I'll do my best to help and protect you too, Diarmuid!
