[Lancer looks outright haggard as he appears on the feed. However, he at least has his normal form back.]

Master. Brother. I'm okay now.

[And then he shuts off the feet.]

[Diarmuid rubs at his brother's back, frustrated at how useless he is. He wants to find a way to ease his brother's pain, but what can he do? Gentle touches and words aren't nearly enough.]

I'm sorry. It should have been me to do that for you, but I couldn't. Even if I hadn't been hurt, I wouldn't have been able to do it. I've done it to others, but they aren't you. You are different.

[Cu Chulainn shakes his head and keeps his eyes closed as he speaks.]

I don't think I could've did it for you either. So it's nothing to feel sorry about.

[Diarmuid sighs and nods. It's a relief that his brother seems to understand, but it doesn't change the fact that he still feels like he failed.]

Is there anything I can do for you? Please, I want...I need to do something.

[He slips an arm around Diarmuid's waist.]

Sit with me? For a little while, anyways. That'll be enough.

[Diarmuid smiles gently.]

You need not even ask. Of course, I will.

[He sits back to settle more comfortably at his brother's side.]

Are you sure there is nothing else I can do for you? This seems like so little...and yet, it's really is more than it seems, isn't it? That is why we keep coming back to this. Everything might be horrid, but if we are both still here that means we just take a deep breath and start again, right?

Exactly. All you need to do is to be here and...I'll be glad that I have someone who won't leave.

[It's hard to describe exactly how comforting and how safe he feels when next to his brother, and it's probably just as hard for Diarmuid. He doesn't even know if it's because they're so close as brothers or because they've been through so much together or if it's just because Diarmuid is one of his few friends who hadn't left him at some point.]

I can take care of a lot of big things, but I'm glad I've got you to help with the small ones.

You know I can help you with those big things too, right? You don't have to do them by yourself even if you can. Things like that are always better shared.

[Diarmuid reaches out and ruffles his brother's hair.]

I have no plans of leaving you. If it ever happens rest assured it will not be willingly. I will fight tooth and nail against it, and I will find a way to come back to you. Even with the horrors this place holds, I would rather be here with you and my other friends than to be alone on a dead world.

[He grins, and then reaches over and returns the favor.]

And I won't leave you either. At least, I'll try not to.

[He lowers his arm and blushes slightly.]

And...uh...well...can I stay close to you for a couple of days? Since, I...

[He falls silent, and then mutters something.]

...I really do get into trouble when it's just myself.

[Diarmuid smiles when his brother ruffles his hair, batting at the other man's hand as he withdraws it.]

Hey, don't do that! I'll end up with another strand that won't listen that way!

[He laughs lightly, before becoming more serious.]

Of course you can stay with me if you want. Honestly, I think everyone gets into trouble more when they are alone in this place. It is just too easy to make what you think it a good decision only to find out that it's actually a foolish one.

I really don't have a lot of plans. I should try to find a few people, but if they are going to want to talk to me is a completely different story.

Mami and Ryoji, right?

[He looks at the door.]

I've got some other people to talk to too. How long do you think you'll take?

[Diarmuid shakes his head.]

I honestly don't know. I need to talk to them, but I also have a couple of others I want to talk to and these aren't the kind of conversations you can rush. Shall we both just come back here once we are ready for bed? I'm not sure how that will work for me since I just...woke up not that long ago, but I can come back so you can sleep better. I won't mind.

[Honestly, he's not sure when he will be able to relax enough to sleep in his bed again after what happened with Mami, but it won't hurt to try. Maybe his brother's presence will sooth him enough it won't be as much of a problem as he fears it might be.]

That works.

[Honestly, Lancer isn't sure how well he can sleep after all this. He hasn't had much time to get over the nightmares left from early in the month, and now he's probably going to see nightmares about his time as a drone.]

Just still a little longer before we both leave, alright?

[Diarmuid smiles and drops an arm around his brother's shoulders giving them a squeeze before resting his head against one.]

Of course. I am in no hurry. We can sit here just as long as you want to.

Great...

[And so they'll just sit there. For a while.]
