Invocation; sort of a black spot

[The image of Allen Walker is crystal clear, which is unfortunate considering he's worse for the ware. His clothes are in remarkable shape, however.]

...It's not as bad as it looks, really. [He smiles.]

There were certainly a lot of us taken into that room. Or rooms. I can still hear the sound of the machines in my head when it's quiet, and sometimes when I just decide to close my eyes for a minute. And I don't think I even deserve to say that it wasn't as bad as all that. I was taken, too, but not much really happened. Kind of like it was just a long dream that I just had to wake up from.

[A rare moment of a truly angry Allen cross where the old Allen used to be.] But I'll say that things have since reversed. If the administrators think this will break you, they're clearly thinking wrong. It was bad, but there's a lot of stronger people here. I know it. And I think you do, too.

...

[His anger quickly fades into another contented smile. Rin-only.] And before I forget, thanks again, Rin. I don't think I got to really enjoy the fixes you made until now.

[Anyone seeing Allen in person as he's making this post will notice him wobble a little. Just as the feed cuts back, Allen stumbles back and collapses. One might be able to catch him just in time if one acts fast enough.]

[The masked woman comes into view, but even with the leather armor, her icy blue eyes are clearly full of concern.]

So you got taken to eh? Dey are as devious as ever an' ya be rite in sayin' dat der be worse tings and in turn, strong people who will seemingly nevah break... But dat jus' means dat dem admins will jus' try hardah...

[Allen's eyes open slightly in surprise, but only for a second and a half.]

Yeah, I'm sure they will, too. It would be pretty naive to think otherwise.

So I guess that means...we just need to try harder, too.

[Xue'Kol smiles under her mask and nods.]

Enthusiasm an' positiveness. I be likin' dat. We need more a' dat... especially nowadays.

[She looks up and visibly sighs.]

Been here longah dan I be likin' ta remember an' I be seein' strong wills break. But I see more surprisin' perseverence dan anythin' mon.

[She turns her attention to him once again.]

I be hopin' joo be from da latter.

[A surge of pain caused Allen to put a hand to his head, but nothing more. His face looked too tired to be in pain.]

And funny how 'they' went as far as to remove our wills by force. But then why give them back? [His hand leaves his head.] That bothers me more than anything.

I be sure it be all part of Jason's mastah plan. He's da mad scientist type, who be knowin' wat goes through 'is head mon.

Der be someting, der always is. For now, I be focusin' on da fact dat I got out of one a' dem. Der have been sum dat don't be makin' it.

That's true. It might not be that easy. It never is, so I can't say I'm kicking myself over it.

Although I'm told it looks like it sometimes. [He sighs a little bit. It wasn't a light one, either.] This might just be the beginning. And I'm hardly a role model, but I'd like to think it's far from over for me.

[Xue takes off her mask and hood, shaking her head to loosen up her long snowy white hair before looking at the feed and smiling.]

I'll say, havin' been here for such a long time, it nevah get any easier... but I have nevah stopped fightin', an I have nevah given up. An' many odas have as well.

Jus' remembah dat ya ain't alone in dis. We all be fightin' mon, an' we all be hurtin'. If ya evah need someone ta talk ta, or a shouldah ta lean on, der be many more'n willin' ta do so.

[He simply nods in response.]

Strange though, I didn't quite get your name. I'm Allen Walker. And you are? [Mr. Walker regains a more childish smile, only mucked by the fact he looks anything childish beyond that.]

[Xue smiles and winks.]

Name's Xue'Kol, nice ta meet'cha. I've seen ya 'round, den again, if ya been here as long as I, ya see lots of people come an go.

I think I've seen you before, too. Can't say we've ever spoken then. Better late than ever I suppose.

Aye, it means we have stuck it out in dis place. An I can be tellin' joo, I be intendin' ta stay alive an' kickin' till I can be gettin' back 'ome.

[Even if she had been here a gods-aweful long time.]

Same here. And in a place where death isn't permanent anymore, that's saying something.

[Despite the friendly tone, his face doesn't say as much. The golden golem--a small, spherical being--clambered onto his shoulder and began to pull on his hair a bit.]

Well, knockin' on wood as dey be sayin, I haven't met that misfortune in all my time here mon. I take great pride in survival an' am sure I be gettin' snuffed at some point, but I be thankin' my luck so far.

[She eyes the other creature curiously but then shrugs.]

You're doing better than me, that's for sure. *Another big sigh* Crazy how we don't even worry about that sort of thing here.

Oh don't be gettin' me wrong mon, I be worryin' dat be why I strive ta survive above all else. But I been dead before, more'n once too. Back 'ome. I be jus' lucky dat der had been a mojo user like a shaman, or a priest close enough ta bring me soul back to m' body before I went ta da great beyond.

Der be powahful people who can ressurect ya back 'ome. Not like dis doh... it be... different.

[For an instant, Allen's look of exhaustion and complexion evaporated, stunned in the moment. His eyes shot open and he turned much paler.]

Not at all what I, uh...expected. So I guess magic works very<\i> differently in the other worlds.

[He sounded lively, if a little in disbelief.]

I'm n-not saying that's weird or anything...but it kind of is.

Nevah did understand a lot of dat mojo talk. I be more of a fightah dan a castah.

[Allen still seems a little surprised and a little darker in tone.]

[As an assassin, it was second nature for Xue to pick up on slight subtleties in changes. She raised an eyebrow and smiled a little.]

I can only imagine I'd look like a mess. Heh, I must look pretty ragged, right?

[He laughs a little.]

[Xue chuckled.]

[Washing his face would seem like a good idea. If to just make it seem like he tried.]

[Xue snickers.]

No. I think that's about all there really is to know. For right now, at least.

[He'll be practicing how to pronounce her name later.]
