If everyone is done dealing with their own ways of coping, and hopefully not foolishly giving up to the tyrants, there is a request I wish to make to those that can still fight:

The foes this tower has are formidable, and among the roaches and vile demons I run into one each floor, I have heard many "heroes" reside here. I find myself growing curious to how far that extends, to see if it is either the truth, or another meaningless title that holds no meaning. I want to know your driving force, your "justice."

Thus I desire a battle with those that call themselves heroes. The floor with the meadow shall be our battlefield.

That will be all.

[And off Hakumen goes to the meadow. He was already there, waiting the bright sky shined above. Always felt peaceful here, even if it reminded him of memories he didn't find pleasant.]

Good. [Hakumen draws the long sword from the sheathe behind him, getting into his stance, feet spread apart and the sword held behind him.]

We need not fight to death of course. Now, show me the force that drives your justice!

[ Loken takes a moment to parse that sentence, then simply makes two massive fists, and puts up his dukes as though he's about to fight him like a boxer. ]

[Both ready, Hakumen dashes forward, spinning his body and slamming the Ookami right towards the titan.]

[ Garviel reacts to the incoming blade surprisingly swiftly, sweeping his arm out as a backhanded deflection, trying to smash the flat away, not the tip or the edge, and counters with a brutal punch to the midsection of the incoming armored warrior. ]

Anyone who calls themselves a hero should probably be beat up in the first place. Just saying.

Why? Well, heroes are dumb, pushy, and selfish. I really don't have time for their type and they need a dose of reality.

There is no such as a perfect hero. If anything, every being is imperfect and capable of such things.

A hero does not recognize the reality of the situation is not a hero, and their justice is flawed. To what end that extends for you though? Would you prefer those types to cower and do nothing but watch as the evil this tower spreads?

The problem is, the only person that would call themselves a hero already has a tenuous grasp on reality.

For me, I think a person should do what they're capable of doing. If they can't do anymore, I won't blame them. There's no sense in pushing yourself too hard and getting injured or killed because of it.

I will not deny the truth to your words. Simply rushing into the heat of battle would have ensured defeat within my own world.

This is indeed a fact most do not consider, often letting their emotions getting the better of them, thus ensuring their failure. Fact remains, these heroes you speak of remain unaware of their own limits.

If you're going to teach them those limits, well, like I said, have fun. I think it's a good idea.

[That...actually sounded like a good idea. If the Ookami couldn't allow him to permanently slay immortal evil here, there wasn't much room for anything else.]

Considering the limitations this place can bring, it is an appealing to say the least.

But why skip straight to the fighting? I know there's some people who think you don't know someone until you fight them, but is it really okay with you to just skip a few steps like that? If you don't mind a dumb kid like me asking, I mean, heh.

Saying you want to "save the residents of the tower" for instance doesn't suffice if you are utterly weak.

I know what you mean there. If that's the case, you must be pretty strong if you're wearing something like that and start making those claims.

[Oh well. Not like the outcome was going to change by clearing it up. Tim scurried to the top of his head, looking almost longingly at the video screen as Allen regained a more confident look, smile no longer intact.]

Show me what the meaning of "justice" even is, then.

[Hakumen turns off the video, and simply goes to the meadow floor. Allen can find him there, simply standing like a statue, waiting for him to show up.]

...If that guy's serious, I guess I can't help but show up now.

[And off he headed to the meadow floor. Thankfully it's not far, just a few floors up. No need for the elevator, but he couldn't help but keep a steady running pace anyway.]

[The meadow floor, upon arrival, looked as peaceful as always. The sun was in the western sky, the grass blew a little in the wind. It was the only floor that was 100% peaceful. Must be why he didn't visit it very often.]
