So a mass protest? It will probably fail, we will probably all die, anyone who joins in without knowing that is a bigger idiot than the one who started it.

But so what? We only have a year left, we have no plans, we don't even know how to prevent these people from turning us into mindless monsters, or drones, or whatever they wish to do to us next. Never mind working out a way to defeat them all and restore our own worlds and our own bodies and our souls and walk out of here alive.

It sounds like the ending to a rubbish children's tale.

So what if we don't know Ruana's true power? She has proven that she is loathe to destroy our souls. And what are our bodies but wireframe and illusion, death doesn't matter here and crying about dying doesn't help anyone.

It doesn't matter if we fight or don't fight. Nothing is going to change, they will still hold all the power, we will still be puppets with no free will. But we still have choices, and if the choices are fight or not fight, even when fighting means dying, then so be it.

If that means we are split then so be it, because in a year we will all be dead, and there is no use in harmony or friendship.

Nothing we do matters anymore so with that in mind.

Let chaos rule.

You are correct. Dying means nothing to us. However, I feel that we should not act foolishly. I will not be joining in the protest, if only because it does not appeal to me as an option. Furthermore, I object to the statement "let chaos rule." Those who do not fight should be spared like one would spare civilians in battle. We should at least allow those who do not want to participate hide peacefully, for lack of a better term.

Why?

Why should those who sit around and do nothing be spared? Those who are not prepared to fight do not deserve to live. Why should this fight be on the shoulders of a few when we need ever person we can get?

Hiding peacefully is a luxury and not one that we can afford here.

Perhaps you are right. We certainly can't afford any luxuries here. However, perhaps it is just the person in me who wants order that feels that the non-participants should be allowed to fade in their own ways. Everyone should get to choose their end, I suppose.

I'd agree, because choice is always to be preferred. But it seems like a realistic one, fading quietly is not what Ruana has in mind for us.

That is true. Is it really choosing our own end if one of the ends has been chosen by someone else?

Exactly. Many things are chosen for us, which is why I suggested chaos, it is unpredictable.

When you put it that way, it almost sounds reasonable. I would still prefer some order and organization, however. Everyone can make their own choices without completely throwing reason out the window.

But if we are predictable then we are controllable. Yet perhaps if some opt chaos and some reason then it would throw things into greater dispensary and they would be unable to come up with a counter.

That sounds like a decent option, but then there's the matter of who chooses chaos and who chooses order. If the balance skews too far to one side or the other, there will be problems. As you said, order may lead to predictability and being controlled, but chaos may result in dangerous consequences for people who can't handle them.

And yet is balance not favourable to order? Which leaves Chaos at a disadvantage.

Every option is problematic, but we must all chose as we will.

In this case, I don't think it would be, given the extent and strength of chaos in this place.

That is correct. Perhaps you could say we have no choice but to choose.

Well perhaps I am biased, as I began this conversation wishing for chaos to rule.

But as long as everyone chooses, and fights for their choice, then what they chose makes little difference.

You may have another point here. Some people are under the impression that they cannot choose due to the tower's power over them. It might help to give them that the idea that they can indeed make a choice for themselves, whether it's as simple as going into this boycott or not.

Then we must let them know, which was the intention of my post, though I believe some people took it the wrong way.

Given how you framed your point as "letting chaos rule," I'm not surprised that some people took your intentions wrong. If you had simply said that people needed to choose and had the power to do so, the reactions might have been different.

I am not that great at how I word things it seems. Chaos seemed to me like the best way not to play into the administrators hands.

Who knows what is or isn't playing into their hands anymore? They surely have contingency plans for almost everything. All we can do is make our choices despite that.

I will agree with that, we must make our own choices and hope they are the right ones for us.

Never. I will stand against Chaos wherever I go. In here, at home, in the dark or the light, the choices you make define you. It still matters and will always matter how we conduct ourselves, even in our darkest hour.

Then fight it. After all chaos cannot rule in a void, if it has nothing to fight it burns itself out.

People like you are useful.

Those who Wish for Chaos to Rule are ignorant of that State.

If your Will be to live as though you have no reason, then do so.
But do not think that your Way is the Rule.

I have thought on this. If you have will and believe it to be your own, know it to be free from any interference, any indoctrination from those around you then act on it.

Fight against the chaos if you must, as long as you fight, with reason or not.

Then in this we are agreed.

I fancy that even chaos itself would despise blind followers. Many here excel in doing what they are told, and believing in what they are shown. They fall to any chain of reasoning because they have none of their own.

But I know well my own mind, and fight I shall.

It does, if you chose chaos it is a choice, made freely and not blindly. Those who just follow without thought are idiots and deserve their fate.

If you engaged your brain and read my suggestion I was not suggesting sitting back and waiting.

I was suggesting invoking chaos. Doing something, is not doing nothing.

I wasn't sure. I thought maybe you were suggesting fighting is pointless, just with the way you were speaking.

I don't know if putting the whole Tower in chaos is a good idea if we aren't sure that we're doing more than just putting people in danger.

Well you wouldn't. But what does danger matter anymore?
