 [The screen shows a boy with light teal hair. He stares curiously out from the monitor, though in reality, he is looking at a camera. He tilts his head, perhaps fascinated with the way that his image is being recorded back to him. Static runs across the monitor, and he jumps a bit at this, quickly shutting the monitor down. He has, however, forgotten to turn the camera off.]

S-so that's how it works... oh!

[There are sounds of fumbling fingers in the background as the audio finally cuts off too.

Clearly, this is the first time that the boy has ever encountered a computer.]

Y-yes, they really are. I've never seen them before. I don't... think they run on any magic though. It's strange.

You can send sound alone - it's marked "audio", and the pad with the letters at your desk is used to write, there should be a place on the screen you can enter it- use the unmarked pad beside the letters to access it. That arrow is like your hand on the screen, it's used to select things.

*He likes to teach people things, especially things he's learned the hard way. It's like his work pays off double when he teaches someone else.*

[Nils glances at each item that Enoch points out. He raises an index finger to his lip, deep in thought as everything is explained.]

So... So that's how it works. Thank you, Sir...?

[Wait, shouldn't he introduce himself first?]

I'm Enoch. It's nice to meet you, Nils. *If his foresight can go so far, he might get the vague idea that there are deep-seated reservations, perhaps not even conscious, about a phrase so simple and automatic as "nice to meet you", but no malice or dislike.*

Did you just arrive, or have you ignored the terminals until now?

[That's an awfully long time to be stuck here, Nils thinks. But none of those words leave his mouth. He's glad that Enoch is friendly though.]

I see... [He hasn't met anyone yet who recognized the name of the region, so he isn't as disappointed as he used to be.] That's all right. I haven't met anyone who knew about it yet.

It may be some time before you do. Some people see others from their worlds, or rather worlds identical to theirs, very soon, sometimes immediately. But some, including myself, can see several months without a familiar face. I don't think anyone has any idea what makes this so.
