☿ // 005; [text]

[This message flickers onto the network late at night, once Waver's had a chance to both check his mail and read the book delivered to him.]

Who the hell left that in my mailbox.

I am not playing games. I am not remotely pleased. If I ever find out who you are, I'm going to throttle you. And if it was an administrator, I'll do much worse than that.

[Waver didn't linger on the network for very long after posting; he eventually stormed off carrying the book in question and wearing a disturbingly calm expression.]

[action; floor fifty-five]

[Why was there an incinerator here and could it possibly come to life and kill him? Who cared? Certainly not the Clock Tower's favorite professor. Who, by the way, to be slowly coming apart from 'tranquil fury' to just plain fury as he threw his newly received book into the incinerator as hard as he could.]

Fucking tower. [He reached up to something at the level of his collarbone--a pendant hidden under his shirt, apparently. Satisfied it was still there, the magus lowered his hand and turned sharply to head back to the dorm floors.]

[It isn't the Network post that gets Diarmuid's attention. It's the pulse of intense anger that burns its way through their bond. Without any thought to the weapon he had been working on in the workshop, Diarmuid is off in the direction he senses Waver in. He can't help but be confused when he finds his friend on floor fifty-five of all floors. What reason could his friend have to be here?

Diarmuid is about to call out to him, when he notices Waver throw what looks to be a book into the incinerator. Considering his friend is a scholar, that action only serves to confuse the Servant more. Silently, he move close to his friend intending to put a hand on his shoulder and ask him what's wrong. That action is cut short, though when Waver spins around and walks right into him.

A worried look fills Diarmuid's eyes when he catches sight of the expression on Waver's face.]

What happened? You're so angry you didn't even notice me...

[Diarmuid's eyes narrow slightly. At the same time, one hand comes up to rest on Waver's shoulder.]

It's hard to believe things are all right when you look like you are about to faint. What's going on? Was that a book I saw you throwing in there?

Oh, did they give you something too? They must be giving everyone things.

[Kariya laughs, oddly enough.]

[For a moment another emotion joins the worry in Diarmuid's eyes--fear. Very few things ever upset Waver this much and the fact that he is being so insistent about not talking about it not only scares Diarmuid, but also hurts...

Aren't they suppose to face everything together?

Unconsciously, his hand tightens on Waver's shoulder.]

Fine. Then tell me who I need to kill for upsetting you and we will call this done.

[Waver isn't the only one trying to get his emotions under control. Diarmuid hates seeing Waver like this. Even more, he hates not being able to do anything about it. It frustrates him and makes him feel useless and that feeling makes him angry.

It's something of a vicious cycle.

Unconsciously, the hand Diarmuid has on Waver's shoulder moves to stroke his friend's hair. The gesture is meant to help calm them both.]

What can I do? Please. I need to do something to help you...

A-amused? What do you mean? I wouldn't be.

[He laughs again.]

There's so much blood...

I'm not laughing.

[Yes, he is.]

I didn't do anything wrong, I promise. I wouldn't... I promised I would do anything to help them.

I'm fine, Waver. At least, as fine as I can be considering I'm scared to death that you aren't.

[Diarmuid gives Waver a confused look.]

Why are you so suddenly worried about me? Did someone threaten me?

I'm sorry they sent you something, too. That isn't right. They should leave us alone. Haven't they done enough? I hope--it wasn't too bad.

I mean--the blood. It's everywhere.

[So illuminating, Kariya. His laughter sounds a bit hysterical now.]

I'm fine. Everything's going to be fine. Isn't it, Waver?
immortalia: (☆ please calm down.)

[ Unlike the first few times Waver's met Sertoria, she seems to be a little dispirited. Her hands are in the sleeves of her cloak and she lifts her head up, snapped out of her thoughts, when she sees Waver. ]

Waver, are you all right...?
immortalia: (☆ i do not think that will work.)

[personal profile] immortalia 2013-08-12 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Are you sure...? You do not look it.

[ Speak for yourself, Sertoria. Her problems aside, she was still willing to help out a friend. ]

There was a picture...

What is the point of me being alive, Waver? If they're dead.
