[V/V has her guitar out and is strumming idly as she speaks. She then begins to perform a song some might recognize: Scarborough Fair.

When she's done, she smiles and reaches to turn off the camera before stopping briefly.] Oh! I can sing more songs if you want to hear them.

[Then she goes and shuts it off.]

It is a pleasure to meet you as well. May I ask what meaning lies in your name? Does it hold symbolism within itself?

[Merciless did not find V/V's name that peculiar either, more merely curious. Surely such an abstract name had to stand for something.]

I have many names, but I don't like most of them. "Heaven's Corpse" or "Type-Venus" don't appeal to me. V/V is a nicer name than those ones other people picked for me.

[Vaguely, Merciless recalls a name she had once held. But it is now unimportant.]

I have only had two names and of them, Merciless is my true one. Heaven's Corpse is a beautiful name, but if it does not truly resonate with you, then it is not the name you are meant to hold. I shall call you V/V, then.

Thank you. That name, you can give to my full body, which I left back home. It's good to be able to talk about it and not get confused.

I would say that we have all left behind our true bodies, but it seems the truth is a far more complicated one than that for you.

This story begins when the Earth died. Planets dying is normal in my world, but creatures outliving their planets is not, and the Earth was afraid when humans could outlive it.

It sent a distress signal to the other planets, who sent their strongest creatures to wipe out the remains of humanity. One of those creatures was 'me', though it wasn't in a form like this. It was more like... um, the best I can tell you is a really big plant shaped like a fish, but with trees for wings.

'I' was shot down, and humans built a city on my body. I began to absorb thoughts and consciousness from the people living on me, and eventually I projected a form like this.

[From her expression on the screen, it can be clearly seen that Merciless is dumbstruck. Her mind labors to make sense of all this.]

It's a strange story.

Humanity defied death itself, and the will of the world called to the other worlds for their deaths, but humanity defeated the avatars sent by them? Truly, that does sound as if humanity was greatly overstepping its boundaries. But perhaps the fact that they did not die meant that it was not truly time for them to die.

They defeated a few of them. They were still fighting them when I came here.

So their fate was not yet known at the time they befell the same doom that befell the worlds of all those trapped within this tower. If that is not yet another deception.

[heavenscorpse]

Right. I truly hope things can be fixed.

The false gods of this tower cannot long hold against the will of the true gods. They shall be vanquished and the proper order restored.

[Because you sound really confident about it.]

Such is the nature of knowing the truth beyond the truth.
