It might be easy, with how things have gone recently, to give into despair and believe none of us are ever getting out of this place. I have chosen to believe that we will, and that our recent efforts against one of our captors proves that where there is a will, there is a way.

We simply weren't prepared enough this time.

[He frowns faintly.]

But aside from that. There is very little I can offer anyone here as consolation. We made our effort, and we failed. ... But I can offer this. Should we ever escape this Tower, should we lose these collars and regain the power that belongs to us.. ... I can't save your worlds. I can't repair the loss of life that's happened there.

But I can repair mine.

[There's no sense of bragging here at all.]

If ... we can't find a way to restore all worlds lost, but find a way to escape, then Auldrant will be open to any and all survivors of the Tower. You don't have to take up the offer, I will not force you. There will be those who would prefer to have their native homes or nothing at all. But for those of you who feel otherwise ... I offer what I can. And I can offer my world. It won't be your first homes, but it will be a home, somewhere to return to that won't ask who you are or what you are or even what you did. Everyone deserves a home. Everyone.

We just have to survive long enough to get there. Don't give up.

You can call it magic if you like. It's something I can do. With time and effort, but ... I can't for other worlds unfortunately. The makeup of other worlds' particles is just too different.

Time will tell. Right now the best thing to do is keep our hopes up and be prepared for what might come.

[There's a long pause as other conversation is traded back and forth between what Lorelei assumes is Waver and his friends, but after a while he shrugs a little bit.]

Ah, well. They do exist in some form however, surely. Perhaps your people simply haven't figured out how to harness it yet. Though if it's just a matter of learning how, be advised that concentrated light can burn as easily as the flame, and concentrated darkness chill like deepest ice.

Airships and rail travel, the latter is easier and thus likely earlier. With a little luck I'll be able to keep the Planet Storm running so alternate and polluting fuel sources won't be required. I've read quite a bit on what 'Earth' uses as energy sources and I'd rather not see that repeated on Auldrant.

As far as I can tell from reading in the library, it's like most other worlds, except it has a ring system. You can see the arc of glittering green-white from almost anywhere on the planet, albeit at different angles and brightenesses depending on day or location..

Uhmmm. For humanity? Mostly it just looked nice. For those like me though, it's home. Being stuck on a planet's surface is supposed to be a temporary thing, we belong in the ring system, which we call the 'fon belt'.

Why would I need an opportunity to see? I know what I am capable of. It's part of my nature, not a skill I developed over time. If you know of a way to remove the collars, feel free to share it so I may begin my work.

Because we do not know if it will work here or if you will be able to do this to your own world. As for the collars, I do not know how to remove it. [Though they are slowly but surely regaining their own powers. If this person could, somehow, restore worlds, then maybe there is hope.]

furthermore, I do not wish to see you overexert yourself if you can manage this. You promise us a miracle and while it is a fine thing you offer, I would like to not see it abused if you really could restore your world.

It doesn't matter if it works here or not. I have no intention of using that in the Tower for Tower purposes, my resources are too limited with this collar on. It will however work just fine on my world. Auldrant is what is required in order to allow me to do such things. I can not 'overexert' myself using it, as my natural state is not capable of exhaustion. All I need is enough Seventh Fonons. And the Planet Storm, which is still active even now, will see to that. Think of it less as ... mmm, pulling off miracles and more akin to asking someone if they have had an opportunity to tell if they can breathe. I didn't offer to fix anyone else's world for a reason.
