Well, yeah that's what I'm guessing. I just don't know what it does.

[Particularly the stuff inside it. Is it supposed to be a weapon? Some sort of medicine?]

One of the people who worked on the research teams might be from a world that recognizes it. Do you know any of them?

The most reliable might be Doctor Brown; he's an aging man with unkempt brown hair. Aside from him, the others I can think of that might know are Waver - look for a well-groomed man with long hair - and Sephiroth - a tall man dressed in black; I've seen him with a sword nearly as long as he is tall. Both of them come from worlds with magic, so they might be able to tell you something if it's discovered to be anything but mundane.

*As much as he didn't really want to involve Sephiroth with someone who didn't know him? He might well just know, and that was the important thing.*

[On his end, David leans forward into the camera. Though it can't be seen through the red sheen of his visor, he's squinting his eyes at the device she's holding in her hand.]

"Ecto-dejecto," huh ...

[He readjusts the (still unlit) cigar in his mouth while taking a moment to think on that.]

Y'know—I ain't an egghead, but any time I come across somethin' with "ecto" in it, it's usually some kind of supernatural goo. Usually ghost gunk.

Good question. All's I can say is, use it on a ghost, see what it does. We got ghostie-type monsters in dis tower, right? People were tellin' me about phantoms before.
