Um, hello everyone. [Roxas seemed a bit rigid, making a network post again within such a short block of time...but he'd been spending a lot more time in the library as sort of a result of it.]

I have a bit of a request. [He paused, fidgeting with his colored strings on his fingers, before making a weird, dismissive handwave to his own fussing.] After what occurred with the network a few days ago, I'm looking for volunteers of a sort- hackers, or people willing to monitor the network. If anything of that sort happens again, I want to be able to try and trace it, or at the very least, watch the network from multiple consoles to see if there's any variation. We need to document this, in case anything else happens.

[An awkward pause.] I'm not trying to be a leader or anything, but...

I'm not sure if I know enough about about this sorta stuff to try and 'lead' anyone, I just want to help people get organized. That way, the people who are good at computers can work together against these guys.

Really? Oh, that's comforting. [Roxas's voice grew drier.] I wanted to try poking around at them, but I just...end up breaking stuff, so I figured it was best left to the professionals. I guess they must have upped their protection when they brought skilled hackers here.

[Rox paused for a minute, mulling.] ...I wonder if they DID change things based on who they "rescued".

[There is a few seconds of fumbling and clear shock in Ventus' face before he gets it off Vid and onto text. the fumbllings long enough to see that it's not the Ventus that Roxas would know, and this one? Doesn't seem to have been filled in on look-a-likes.]

[Roxas seemed to visibly start, leaning in to the screen with his eyes squinched. By the end of this tower nonsense, he was going to need glasses.]

Um...

[Okay. How could he approach this carefully? They saw him and were obviously startled. It wasn't Ven, but all things considered...]

I appreciate it. [He suddenly realized the cam was still on, and he jolted again, forcing a smile and ruffling the back of his hair sheepishly.] Sorry, I really do appreciate all the help we can get. My...name's Roxas.

I just monitor the network, yes? [God, if this was Vid, Ventus would be a stuttering mess of a person, no lie. As it is, he's extremely spooked so there won't be much out of him just yet. As it is, the reply is painfully short and to the point.]

Yeah, watch for any weird messages and the like. I just don't want to miss any phenomenon- we need as much information as possible.

[He's so writing this in his Wonders Of The Tower notebook.]

It's nice to meet you, Ventus. [As far as Rox could assume- Aqua had mentioned that Ven had some weird homelife issues. Maybe this was Ven before he met the trio? It was the best he could come up with, but...something still seemed off.]

Are you in the library a lot too?

..Understood. I will do my best. Yes. It's... nice. quiet, away from people.

[Hn.] If you want peace, then you may want to try floor nineteen too. Less people go there, as far as I know. It's the more technical library, though. But if that'd make you more comfortable, it might work out.

[Trying to help, bro.]

[The first thing on the video is Naminé moving her hands away from the computer a little more quickly than necessary. Those weird messages made her uneasy, especially around the terminals. They do have cameras in them, after all. Despite her discomfort, she manages a firm (albeit small) smile, more for his sake than hers. She didn't miss the fidgeting.]

Hello, Roxas. I know someone who works with computers. If he doesn't see your message, I'll let him know, okay?

[Rox leaned on his elbow, smiling once he realized who it was.]

I'd appreciate it. I just...don't want all that nonsense to get to people. I feel like I dropped the ball, you know? [A shrug, and he took a moment.] Were you okay during all that?

[His smile makes it easier for her to keep one on her own face. She nods her "you're welcome" when he says he'd appreciate it. The rest of what he says results in a very slight headtilt and a more sympathetic expression - at least until that last question, which makes her glance away for a moment as if slightly uncomfortable, but before long her smile is back.] It's kind of you to think of them, but it may not do any good. They've probably already been upset, if they're going to be - but none of it is your fault, Roxas. I think you're doing something important, trying to make sure everything's investigated. [As for that last bit, though, she hesitates once more.] During what happened--... I was unsettled. But... nothing really happened to me, so I guess it doesn't matter.

I just...I like investigating things. I always have. My friends and I used to do it a lot, so... [A sigh.] This is more serious. I'm glad to do it.

[He smile returned, and he nodded.] I can't blame you. I was worried, I didn't know how far that extended. I hope nobody else had too big of an issue.

[Once again, she clamps her mouth down on an, "I know". In its place she puts a,] It's good that you have some experience, then, and I'm sure the others will appreciate your effort. [At least, the ones who aren't jerks will.]

Well... I know a lot of people were upset, and some of them wanted to help whoever that was in the message. [...And she kind of looks a bit... cautious for a moment, and casts a glance over her shoulder before locking the post. It probably won't do any good, but she wants to do whatever she can to keep this as quiet as possible. The people in control of the tower most likely already know, but... she feels she owes it to Fawkes, just in case.] Someone also smashed one of the terminals.

[PING. This is a good idea, and Karkat has kind of been slacking in the leaderly category lately. Maybe it's time to step up or at least tell this guy he's going in the right direction.

Not a fucking bad idea. We should definitely monitor these things and catch every detail we can. [/chinhand] By the way nookstain, if you want to get someone's attention, don't start a sentence with "um". It makes you sound weak and cowardly, and that's the last thing you want to look like.

[First thought- what the hell is a nookstain. Luckily, Rox was at least good at staying on topic once he got going.]

I just know some consoles did...strange things, so I figured there may actually be a difference. If this happened once, it'll happen again, and I think everyone here is sick of being out of the loop.

[A pause.] I'm not worried about what I look like. I know what I'm capable of. And...leadership isn't exactly one of those things. [Hayner always handled that stuff. Or Olette. Or...anyone who wasn't Rox himself. He'd never exactly been an important person.]

I can't tell if you're seriously that practical or if you're selling yourself short. Between you and me, any asshole with enough willpower can be a leader. You're capable.

But that's not what you want, so I'll shut up about it. Carry on.
