Um. I’ve seen videos like this and I imagine that’s how everyone finds one another so I’m going to try it. So. Me name’s Rory Flanagan and I’d really like to know what’s going on. I mean, I’m all for discovering new places and learning new things but I don’t really think this is the right way to go about it…

[ his voice is very small. ]

Can I at least know if anyone else from McKinley is here? Does anyone know Finn Hudson? [ he’s got very few friends and Finn’s one of them. the only one. so if anyone knows him for the love of God, tell Rory. ]

Well, there are four years in high school in America. Junior's the third, I'm in my second right now.

And you don't have to call me sir or anything, I like Rory better. Sir feels awfully stiff.

I'm actually from Switzerland but I went to Italy to work and I'm from a bit of Switzerland that speaks Italian, in the alps.

Well, actually I took a plane, a boat would've taken a fair bit longer. But a boat probably would've been a lot of fun, I imagine.

What's a plane? [He's never heard that word before] I never been on a boat before but I bet it's lots of fun!

[He nods] I was a chimney sweep! We needed to pay for a doctor for my mum, and Luini bought children to sell in Milano so I went with him so she could get better! [He's eleven, but child labour laws sucked in 1830]

It's, um, a sort of machine that goes up in the air and carries people all over the world. You've never heard of one?

A chimney sweep... they still have those in Italy, then? [ AND THEN FULL STOP. ]

A machine! That goes up in the air? [Romeo looks completely and utterly mystified] Is it magic? It sounds even cooler than a car, which people have told him about, and dinosaurs!] My friend has a board that flies, that's magic, is it like that?

[He nods] Yes there's lots of us! Do they not have chimney sweeps in America? They don't in Molly's world either, but they have chimneys so I think she just never saw the sweeps because she's a princess!

[More nodding] He bought children from their parents and sold them to bosses in Milano [He frowns] He wasn't a very good person!

No, um it's some sort of technology with the air and its wings...

They have chimneys but usually if it gets dirty they're likely to just call someone to clean it professionally, and never children. Children aren't meant to be bought and sold. [ can he like, shelter you and hug you forverr? ]

Molly's my best friend here, she is really nice and a princess [She is not a princess, Romeo just doesn't know that] and a superhero! She is very brave!

It sounds like a wonderful place! My friend had a dream that one day all children would run free under the blue sky so I am going to try and fulfil it for him!

It's a fair place. Not everyone's nice there either but you've got people like Finn who try to do good by you and I've got some other friends too. But children are free where I come from and I reckon it'd make your friend very happy to see it. [ compared to being sold as a chimney sweep? Rory is totally okay with being bullied. ] I'd like to meet her.

[He wasn't sure really if Alfredo could hear him now, but he hoped he could and he was keeping his spirits up so he had to believe] I bet he is really happy sir, he's in heaven but he said he'd watch me so I bet he knows that there's somewhere where his dream came true!

[Romeo dislikes bullies, if he ever finds out Rory was bullied Rory will have an eleven year old protector forever!] I can introduce you, she's really nice and I'm sure she'd like to meet you too!
