[The video switches on and... All anyone can see is a hand trying desperately to hit keys on the keyboard. And then, an annoyed little grunt is heard and the hand disappears, seemingly giving up.

And then, the terminal starts rocking. Lightly at first, and then violently enough that the desk the keyboard was in and the monitor go toppling onto the floor. By some odd miracle, they still actually function.

Now that it's down on the floor, the video shows Stein looking rather pissed off, and kind of like she was playing Twister without a mat. The awkward positioning of her legs and left arm is held in place by some glowing white strings stitched between her hand and feet, and the floor. Weird.]

I'm in the library. I need something sharp.

...Please.

Would you bring it upstairs for me? I'm slightly... Unable to move.

Okay!

[It takes a little while for him to get down all the stairs but he is soon in the library and wandering around looking for her.]

Miss Stein?

[From her position down on the ground, she waves an arm up in the air and calls out, to get his attention:]

Romeo, Romeo, oh wherefore art thou, Romeo.

Miss Stein! I'm here! [He runs over, unfortunately the reference goes completely over his head, as his reading is not good enough for Shakespeare yet! He hands over his makeshift knife]

[She takes it gladly, slowly starting to work on cutting the stitches away from her other hand. Once she does, she stretches her arm out with no small amount of satisfaction.]

Thank you, I really do appreciate it. [And then she gets to work on her feet.]

[Romeo watches, not as horrified as he probably should have been. He has seen a lot these last few months.] What happened miss?

As far as I can tell, my soul went slightly haywire and stitched me to the floor without warning. It happened occasionally when I was younger but not in many, many years.

You're soul? [Have a very confused look]

[madscientits]

My fighting ability hardly stops at just martial arts, you know.

Really? What else can you do miss?

[madscientits]

I can also attack people using my soul wavelength. And detect people's souls as well. A few other things here and there, but those are the main ones.

[myblueskies]

Soul wavelength? I don't know what that is miss!

[madscientits]

Everyone's soul gives off a little... In my case, it's sound, but for others it could be a smell, some kind of visual response, a feeling, I'm sure for some people it's even a taste. That sensation is the wavelength. In another way of putting it, think about tossing a rock into a pond; the ripples are the wavelength, the rock is the soul.

Romeo was confused but he thought of what happened when you threw a rock into water and nodded understanding a little better. "So you can attack people using the ripples miss?"

[madscientits]

She smiled. "Essentially, yes. Usually people's souls are roughly the size of a softball, some are bigger, more like a basket ball. Mine on the other hand is around 8 feet in diameter. It's bigger, so it can do quite a bit more than other people's, such as the stitching that was tethering me to the floor." She briefly debated offering to demonstrate what else she could do, but decided against it. It would probably hurt the poor kid pretty badly, and that was hardly a way to reward him after he'd helped her out.

Romeo is eyes widened at the explanation he had never heard above anything like this before but so many strange and unusual things had happened since he arrived in this power that very little surprised him any more. "I think I understand miss. You have a special soul because it's bigger than other peoples'."

A moment later he frowned thinking, "Does my soul have ripples too miss?"

[madscientits]

"Of course, everyone's does. Yours... Is a determined little soul, always more concerned with others than yourself. And it's very self-assured, like you think you know everything about the world and its people already."

[myblueskies]

"Can you see everyone's souls? Is that one of your powers?" Because Romeo couldn't see what people's souls were like, he hadn't even known that they could be seen until now.

[madscientits]

"Hear, technically, but yes, I can sense everyone's souls. I've been able to ever since I was a little girl." She smiles. It's been a while since that talent of her's was really appreciated like this.

[myblueskies]

"That's amazing!" He grinned widely, "So does everyone's soul sound different? Like their voice?"

[madscientits]

"Something like that. They do sound different, but it's not necessarily a melody or their voice. With some people, it's just a beat or something along those lines, with others it is more 'musical'. And certain emotions sound certain ways too, so it's quite a lot of information to take in all at once." Which is why she was currently suffering the beginning of a rather awful headache. With her abilities going haywire, she couldn't really keep everyone's souls quiet like she usually could. She could grin and bear it though. For now, at least.

Romeo listened fascinated, he had never heard of anything like this before but he liked the idea of people's souls having their own sound, and their emotions. Though he thought it might be very noisy if you could hear everyone's souls all at once.
