[Here is Reno, not looking any worse for wear. He looks rather serious though, and when he speaks it's all business. For those who only know him casually, it's quite a bit different than his usual tone of voice.]

I've got to say, I'm curious. I understand some people experienced problems the past week with their collar.

[He taps his own collar, which is orange again.] They called me in and changed it from orange to violet. When I got back to my room, I could barely move and it was damned hard doing anything.

Anyone care to share their story?

Mine went from blue to orange. I don't know what all happened, but it grew increasingly difficult to fight off dizziness.

Dizziness sounds like it's a common symptom from what I heard. Inability to move being the next. You notice anything other than that?

Hell, I'm not really good at this stuff. I'm only coming up with stupid theories like we're all color coded with rainbows.

You said that you had trouble moving, so could it be the fluid colors are dependent on factors?

[midgarhorizon]

Maybe. I've got two cases written down here where people said they were dizzy, lost control. Two more cases where they couldn't even move.

There's your case.

Mine; I went orange to violet. It was hard to move, like I was trapped in my body. Oh yeah, my roommate Shion had the same thing.

Then there's the girl that had the opposite of us. She described it "being too far away from my body."

[He contemplates this for a moment, trying to recall what he knew about this tower and what happened to them all this previous time. They claimed that their worlds had been destroyed - that they'd saved them - yet there wasn't a single book in the libraries about any sort of history, as far as he's seen. They also lacked in astral projection, something he'd only been interested in because of what happened to him back home.]

So orange made those who normally have cooler colors seem distant from their bodies and cooler colors have the exact opposite effect...

[It's mainly to himself, as he mulls over the facts.]

Could there be a connection to powers and the heart with the fluid color? [But then, why would that be necessary-? Ugh, this is ridiculous.]

[He was following up until the part about powers and hearts. Reno crinkles his forehead in confusion.]

The heart? You mean how people feel?

I believe "soul" is another word for it. [Forgive him, Reno- he's from a world that is more than a little messed up, and that IS how Ameno-sagiri once put it.]

You mentioned another who, like me, felt too far from their body. Unless there's something about this we don't know about the sudden change, something about the fluid had to change that...

Then again, I'm new and this theory could be completely off.

Souls? Seriously? That implies we all died. Or...


[Suddenly, all the color is gone from his face. A billion theories are screaming through his head and half of them aren't at all sane. Ouch.]

Shiva. I hope you're wrong and it's just something that screwed with our heads.

I hope you're right. This place is messed up enough as it is.
