okay soooooo
oh if anyone does not know
i am echidna! just btw
so back home we have these kind of games we play called tabeltop games!
which are basically roleplaying and strategy games that you play using a guide book, and you make up your own character to play as and you play through a story
one person is called the game master (or dungeon master since one of the most popular modules is called dungeons and dragons) and they design an adventure for the other players to act out through narration. the game master controls the enemies and the non-player characters that you can meet and talk to on the adventure, and combat is based on rolling dice and each character's individual stats.
it is really fun! :D
my friend ammy and i played a lot with our friends back at home
so we were wondering if anyone here wanted to play a campaign with us!
we are going to play with one of our dm's really old homebrew modules called problem sleuth
its reeeaaaaally old
and about detectives!
i mean seriously the pictures are in black and white and everything O_O
except the candy is colored for some reason :?
idk
but it looks really cool and we have been wanting to try it out!
but dick was all like nooooooo were playing sburb you babies
weh
if you do not know anything about tabletop stuff that is ok!
and me and ammy can teach anybody that wants to learn! :)
and i think this module is basically like easy mode stuff
at least there is not much math
but if there is ammy will probably do it for you :V !
so yeah you guys should try it. itll be reeeaaaally cool!!! <3

p.s. does anybody have a baseball cap i can borrow???
and/or a potato

I'm down for this as long as I can make the silliest character possible. Maybe Xander and I can make long lost dramatic siblings. Or is tabletop supposed to be serious? It's not supposed to be serious, is it?

Also, sorry but no, I possess neither a baseball hat nor a potato. I could try conjuring one for you, but I don't think it'd stick around. I haven't really learned about permanent conjuring, it's kinda on god level territory.
guiltapalooza: (☆ tara → missy you are too cute)

I am way okay with shutting up for drama. The drama-comedy balance is a very important part of crime solving. Take it from me, I'm experienced.

I wouldn't have it any other way. I'd say we could do the whole Luke-Leia thing, but I'm not sure you can pull that off effectively without someone to be Han.

I might be able to turn one kind of hat into another and have that stick, as long as it's the same size? Conservation of mass and all that. Ohhhh, potato battery, I remember those! If you find one and get stuck, let me know, I totally aced that class.

It will have to be a careful, deliberate balance, to ensure our gadgets and our cigars are in equal amounts. Does the DM always play NPCs? Also, can he get dangled from a roof before he dies, for optimum Star Wars dramatic reference?

I don't mind! We can give it a shot. I think I have a hat we could use as a base, too, though I'll have to make it not purple anymore.

A potato generator!! What motivated this particular diabolical scheme? He doesn't seem the diabolical science type, just saying.

Do the assistants get special plot-knowing privileges that they then lord over everyone else? Or is the lording over unclassy? You're the best, Echidna. Really setting the bar high for any future table top experiences I may have.

Well, if purple would be okay, I guess I can leave it that way. Want to meet up and get 'er done?

Sorry, but all I have are magic supplies. Maybe if you go make a suggestion at the suggestion box for some science-y type stuff, they'll oblige? Someone told me before that they do that, sometimes. Potato battery is a time-honored intro to the wonders of science tradition, though. Good choice.

So it's an expected sort of unclassy, like getting Boardwalk in Monopoly, got it. And I'm sure you won't disappoint me! It sounds like a rousing good time full of geekdom and bad jokes, which is always something I appreciate.

I think I started with the baking soda volcano, another time-honored classic. When do you want to meet up and do the fancy hat magic?
guiltapalooza: (☆ making friends)

[personal profile] guiltapalooza 2012-04-07 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I bet he even put a hotel on it like a big meanie. Geez.

Okay! Want to meet up there right now? Volcanoes aside.
guiltapalooza: (☆ reading serious things)

[Willow's waiting by the door, a purple bucket hat on her head unashamedly. She has her nose in a book as she waits, leaning against the wall.]
guiltapalooza: (☆ you should forgive me)

[personal profile] guiltapalooza 2012-04-09 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Willow returns the fake accent back, though hers is a bit better from listening to Giles all the time.]

Thank you, old chap, I am ever so fond of it. Shall we be off, then?
guiltapalooza: (☆ smug)

[personal profile] guiltapalooza 2012-04-10 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Willow gamely takes the lead, and they're ducking back into the library. There's something comforting still about doing magic in a library, and it's not like there's a librarian to come shush them, so she brings them over to a study table. She has a few books laid out that she's shortly adding the one in her hands to, closing them and stacking them and pushing them off to the side.

Then she settles into a chair, and nods to the one next to her.]
Do sit, Miss Hackett. We have ever so much to be on with.
guiltapalooza: (☆ curious and sly)

[personal profile] guiltapalooza 2012-04-12 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
[She smiles at hearing her laugh, always happy to hear other people being happy. Without further ado, Willow reaches up and takes her hat off, placing it on the table between them.]

One baseball cap was the request, right? [she double checks, dropping the accent.]
guiltapalooza: (☆ magic: ritual time)

[personal profile] guiltapalooza 2012-04-14 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, baseball cap for secret thing, can stay purple. Here we go.

[Willow takes a breath, because changing one thing to another is relatively involved magic. It's not animation, just inanimate to inanimate, and she's planning on obeying the law of conservation of mass, so it shouldn't be too bad. A far cry from a gun into a dove with the wave of her hand.

Yeah, she can do this. There's some long moments of silence in which she concentrates and stares at the hat. Then she raises a hand, very slowly, and passes it over it as if doing a magic trick.

When her hand comes back, there's a perfectly normal, black top hat sitting there.]

--Darn!
guiltapalooza: (☆ I'll pout until you agree)

[personal profile] guiltapalooza 2012-05-01 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
I guess not. [She promptly turns pouty.] I don't know what went wrong, I've done way more complicated stuff than this...

[She picks it and inspects it, then looks at Echidna again, sheepish.] I don't suppose a top hat would work?
guiltapalooza: (☆ tara → party girls)

[personal profile] guiltapalooza 2012-05-04 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
It does? Oh, good. [She smiles in relief, glad to see her happy, and stretches out over the table to place it on Echidna's head.

Her smile promptly turns into a grin.]
I have to say, it suits you, Miss Hackett. DMs need a mark of their station.
