okay soooooo
oh if anyone does not know
i am echidna! just btw
so back home we have these kind of games we play called tabeltop games!
which are basically roleplaying and strategy games that you play using a guide book, and you make up your own character to play as and you play through a story
one person is called the game master (or dungeon master since one of the most popular modules is called dungeons and dragons) and they design an adventure for the other players to act out through narration. the game master controls the enemies and the non-player characters that you can meet and talk to on the adventure, and combat is based on rolling dice and each character's individual stats.
it is really fun! :D
my friend ammy and i played a lot with our friends back at home
so we were wondering if anyone here wanted to play a campaign with us!
we are going to play with one of our dm's really old homebrew modules called problem sleuth
its reeeaaaaally old
and about detectives!
i mean seriously the pictures are in black and white and everything O_O
except the candy is colored for some reason :?
idk
but it looks really cool and we have been wanting to try it out!
but dick was all like nooooooo were playing sburb you babies
weh
if you do not know anything about tabletop stuff that is ok!
and me and ammy can teach anybody that wants to learn! :)
and i think this module is basically like easy mode stuff
at least there is not much math
but if there is ammy will probably do it for you :V !
so yeah you guys should try it. itll be reeeaaaally cool!!! <3
p.s. does anybody have a baseball cap i can borrow???
and/or a potato

when you make your characters you decide their stats
so you get x many points to spend, and you put 2 intelligence and 3 in strength etc
and when you want to do certain things in a game, you have to use those stats for a roll
ie a lot of times people roll for a perception check to see if they notice certain things
so you take the stat number for wits and the number for composure, and put them together and that number is how many dice you roll
if the total of the dice is above a certain number you succeed!
if it is below a certain number you fail and do not notice a thing
it is mostly a way of keeping things fair so people cant cheat and notice EVERYTHING :B
it is called tabletop because usually people play around a table together
and you keep your sheets and roll the dice on the table :D

for example if the party is walking somewhere and there is some suspicious plot relevant guy talking to someone across the street
if you roll above say, 7, then your character can notice them and then go talk to whoever they were talking to if they leave
but if you roll below 7, then you do not notice them and thus cannot try to interact with them
most of the time it is ok if only one person wins the roll, but if no one does then you have to ignore that plot point
and sometimes if you roll really high, certain game masters will let you notice other more specific things

so then you can talk for your character and back and forth etc etc!!!
it is really fun! :D
and yes i have dice!
although come to think of it i only have one set O_O;;
so i might have to get more or we will all have to share
but yes dice will be provided :O !!

it sounds like fun, how do i make a character?

ok first you just have to think of the kind of character you want to play! the most basic kind here would be a detective or a mobster, or even some posh fancy rich guy or a police guy.
then you can think of their personality and how they would act
and once i get the character sheet made you can decide on stats and stuff!

okay echidna i will try and make up a character, do i need to draw them? im not very good at drawing but i can try my best!

you can if you want and a lot of people do
or try to get other people to draw them
but you can just describe what they look like if you dont want to go through the trouble :P

feel free to do everything if you want
it will definitely not hurt :)
for now that is all you need to do!
once ammy and i get the character sheet down you can fill that out and decide their stats and stuff
but i will let you know when that is ready!
