Hello. My name is Major John Perry, former Administrator of Roanoke Colony. Sorry, I don't have a uniform with me, so no fancy costume for you to laugh at.

[He grins a bit, and seems to relax a little.]

I haven't been here as long as many of you seem to have been, but in the interest of both knowing who's here and learning more about each other's worlds, I've made up a little survey for those who are interested in sharing some information. And it still seems weird to me that you do. But a lot of the things that magic probably does we can probably replicate with technology.

Well... no. But we have a lot of weapons that do a fine job of killing lots of people.

It is. It can do a lot of other things too, though.

Well for one, our technology can save lives. I doubt I'd have made it to 92 naturally. Also, I've had limbs blown off multiple times, and the SDF has technology that can regrow that sort of stuff easily.
