I've got a few questions if anyone's willing to answer them considering the circumstances. Call it professional curiosity if you'd like a reason.

How long has everyone been here?

How much does anyone know about what happened to the universe?

Is there anyone who's taken charge other than those involved with the Tower itself?

New to here, yes though I was somewhere similar enough before.

Bad people can tell the truth too, especially when it suits them or there's no reason to lie about it.

Where were you before sir? Were there bad people there too?

[He frowns] Once they told us we could go home, and they sent us to really nasty worlds were no one wanted us, or everyone was dead, or bad things had happened. People said that they weren't real but that means the bad people definitely lied, either the worlds ended or those were our worlds or something else but either way the bad people told us lies so I don't know what is right.

The worlds are gone, but... there's bound to be more that The End didn't eat. The people I was with before were taking people to one of them, and it wasn't safe so the people running the tower brought me here.

I helped kill the thing that was eating worlds, so it'll only be a matter of time before the people here find one thats good and ready for us.

Eating worlds? [The idea that there were other worlds out there made him think, because that was good and he was mad that if there were nicer worlds out there that the bad people kept them here.

But... they were gone? Really really gone? Milano? His family? The rest of the black brothers? Unless they had been rescued by someone else...

He wasn't crying, of course he wasn't. He was brave and not a little kid any more, he would be twelve soon after all, he had been here almost a year.
