animus_network | First Sermon [Text]

[Upon his arrival there had been no access to such a network and now that The Signless had found such a device. Now he would be sure to use it to his advantage. He had been informed that their were others here that were of his species. There was even another 'him.' Using his instinct he goes to the network, to introduce himself, and let others know of his presence. Hopefully there would be no repercussions.]

I give a humble welcome to those who are residents in this tower. I have come to this network to ask a favor.
To start out, I do wish to apologize if I am disturbing any of you.
I am speaking to all of you, but I wish to inquire about the location of those of my species.
That species being, Troll. It is that I am and all I ever have been.
I wish to find who I can and gain information about our location and the different universes that we have come from.
I have already found a considerable amount of information about this neighborhood, consumed the required nutrition and made a few friends.
Unfortunately I have not made contact with any of my roommates and have been informed that they do reside there. I believe my room number is 01-14.
It is not required to meet you, for this I am certain of, but I would like to know the residents I will grow accustomed to seeing daily.

Recently I have seen a increasing amount of disarray and new arrival confusion on the network.
If I may, I am willing to offer assistance to anyone in need.
Given the situation we are all currently in, there is no gain in a solo effort, if we are to leave this place and find a new life for ourselves.
This why I am willing to offer my help.
Do not be shy and I do thank the tower for their time.

I am aware of this unfortunate fact and I am sorry if the ways of our culture have hindered your growth.
It is unbecoming to think that way, but it how the high bloods have come to control the world we live in.

[ He switched to video this time, deciding that it was safe enough to do a proper introduction now. He smiled and waved to the screen. ]

Tavros Nitram.

[At such a gesture he to decides that a proper greeting is the way to go. So, he switches to video as well and greets the other troll with a light smile.]

As expected you are a young troll like the others I have met. It is a pleasure to meet you Tavros Nitram.

[ There is no response from his side other than intense staring. He tilts his head, somewhat squinting at the screen as if staring from a different angle will change anything. It takes Tavros a few awkward seconds before he realized that he's being awfully rude, and he should probably say something. ]

Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean ... to be rude or anything. You just, uh, look like someone I know.

[This comes of interest to him. He looked familiar to him and it seemed odd for that to be even possible...unless.]

I remind you of someone you know? Do you mind telling me who?

His name is Karkat. You two have the same set of horns and features. [ A considering pause followed. ] Actually, you look like an older version of Karkat!

[ Which is not very shocking considering the different-universe thing going on in the tower, so this guy could actually be an older!Karkat. A nice older!Karkat. ]

Do you know of his blood color? It is possible that he could be my descendant. In which case I would be honored to meet him.

[He knew that their descendants resembled them. This was true and could be seen when he had met the Psiionics descendant. They had even shared the same mutations.]

You're Karkat's ancestor? Woah.

[ Ah, but asking about his blood color is a little troublesome. Soon after, he offered the Signless an apologetic smile. ]

Uh, I think it would be best, to ask Karkat about this. You see, he's a little ... sensitive when it comes down to the color of his blood. So, I'm not sure if I should say anything, you know? Out of respect for his feelings.

[He beams at the response and doesn't seem all too distraught over the answer. In fact he is accepting of it and give a wave of his hand to dismiss it.]

I understand, if we do share the same color then it would come as no surprised to me that he would hide it. I myself was wary of revealing it in my youth.

I'm sure he is a worthy friend to you.

[ Oh. Well. He's not sure how to feel about that. He shrugs, keeping the smile. ] I just don't want to upset him. That's all.

But- that's really cool! I wonder if you know anything about my ancestor or my friends.

I am certain he values you as a friend.

[A beat.]

I have not met any that have similar features to yours. I have met other orange bloods as yourself, but none that might be your ancestor. Maybe one day you will get to meet him, do you know anything about him?

As for your friends I have met a few and they are quite interesting companions. Though, some took a while to warm up to me I think I might have scared a few.

I doubt it, but- it would be nice if he did! If not, that's okay. I guess.

[ His shoulders dropped, looking somewhat sulky. ]

... Oh. No, I don't know anything about him! I mean- I would really like to get to know him, and I don't know, maybe be friends with him? Yeah, that would be cool.

Also, I find it hard to believe that you would scare anyone. You're like ... the nicest ancestor! [ A pause. ] Well, you're the only ancestor I know, but you're still pretty nice.

It is interesting to meet ones ancestor and find out where you came from. We are what allows you to live by passing on our genetic material and continue our genetics. Or so that is what is said.

I think it was because I was an adult. I take you you and your friends don't see many of us?

[He expression sterns and he gives a hard nod.] Yes, it appears you have been conditioned from adult interactions. Given the adults I know that might have been a wise decision, but not all of us are willing to cull on sight.

[ He raised his index finger and opened his mouth, ready to protest, but ...

Nope. Don't try to defend yourself, Tavros. Dropping the subject is the wise thing to do right now. ]

I ... To be honest, I think you're a very rare case. I'd be terrified if I spotted another adult.

It is merely the highbloods that you would need to worry about. They can be quite... temperamental or rather disagreeable, if those are the right words.

[He wasn't sure if the young troll would understand what he meant. Besides he didn't really want to elaborate further.]
