Hello, tower.
Due to the recent blind date sign ups, there's been some confusion as to what a 'date' really is.

[We are looking at you, Keyderps- also a few others friendly anon knows...]

It's described as: "Two people getting together for an activity when the possibility of romance between them has been broached but not ruled out. Since the exploration of romance is the purpose of a date, merely asking someone out on a date is sufficient to broach the subject. Dates may or not continue once a couple have entered into a romantic relationship. tl;dr: Dressing up and going out with a boy or girl, depending on preferences. Usually romantic, but can be as simple as going out for coffee or ice cream with someone you consider as more than a friend or best friend.

A wise decision. There might be some that have difficulty in social settings. Interestingly, I would not meet the age standards for this sort of interaction should the turn become a romantic one. In some cases, the age differences are staggering.

I would hope that each was matched according to interests?

I think the blind date is more for social interaction than romantic outings, in this case.

I see. It really doesn't bother me one way or the other if the intentions are for social interactions rather than for a breeding program. That would be a different matter entirely.

OP has only seen or heard of one friendship party before now, and that was during the last time Dax had control of the tower a few months ago. I've been considering asking for something like these two parties to be monthly or bi-monthly to keep spirits up.

You mean, for morale purposes. That would not only be thoughtful, it could just help people that have troubles adjusting to these letters. This idea is intriguing.

The idea, has merit. To take control over an uncontrollable situation is the very essence of human endurance and tenacity. Yes, it makes sense.
