[Painwheel is not amused, to say the least. She guesses she's supposed to be grateful she was (apparently) rescued from the apocalypse, but she's really not. Her world being gone means she'll never have her chance at revenge, so really, right now she's more angry than anything.

Still, she knows she needs to learn more about this place. She might be here for a while, after all. With that in mind, she makes her way to one of the communication rooms after she's managed to calm down. It takes a while to get there, partly because she doesn't want to be seen if she can help it. She doesn't expect people's reactions to her appearance to be any different here than they were in her world, and that's something she really doesn't want to deal with right now.

Not wanting to deal with typing, she opts for voice instead. Once she's fairly sure she's got it working properly, she speaks. Her voice sounds really rough, like she's been screaming for a long time... which isn't entirely inaccurate.]

If anyone's actually out there listening to this... I want to know more about this place. I've read the letters, but that's not enough. Tell me everything you know.

[And that's the entirety of her message. She's not exactly the most talkative person ever.]

This tower has no known methods of escape. Some floors are dangerous, a few are not, but everywhere outside the dormitories is dangerous when night falls. Your first meal has to be the oatmeal, and you'll have checks on your collar every so often - trying to avoid either of these has never worked and is not a good idea.

The people in charge of this place are not your friends.

Dangerous, huh? Just how dangerous is it? And yeah, I figured they weren't.

[Having gleaned what information he can off the network, John has Finally moved out of the dormitories and begun exploring some of the lower floors. And that's when he sees Painwheel, or rather...he hears her. One quick spin-around later, he sees her and stops dead in his tracks, staring.]

[He doesn't look particularly horrified or anything, he's just...staring. Which probably isn't the most polite thing to do but he can't help it. She's like a walking horror video game character.]

[Painwheel's gotten pretty damn good at sensing when she's being watched - she's had to. After she turns around, she just sort of glares at John for a brief moment before opening her mouth to speak.]

Didn't anyone ever tell you it's rude to stare?

[John shrugs. Technically he knows it's rude, but technically he's never really had to be reprimanded for it before.]

Didn't anyone ever tell you that creeping around in dark corridors is a good way to get stared at?
