3rd Spell - [Text]/[Attempted but botched filter against Tower Staff]
I'm sorry. I know this is a bad time, and everyone's minds are on their friends, and how to fix things, and so is mine, but I need to ask. If you want to answer, great. If not, I definitely understand. No hard feelings.
I keep trying to sort out how to ask this, but I can't, so I'm just going to write down a list here. But, mostly?
I need to ask about death.
I know this might be a touchy subject for a lot of people, so just answer whatever you want. However many or however few or none. Filter it, if that helps, or make it anonymous. I've seen people do that, and that's all okay with me. But anything you can tell me, I'd really appreciate it.
[She's got a theory, and it's a doozy.]
1. Have you ever died here? How many times? Do you think the time you couldn't move changed from time to time? If you died back home, too, I guess that counts.
2. Have you ever had to deal with an empty collar? Or be dragged in to have it refilled?
3. Have you ever had your collar removed?
4. Have you ever seen someone die? What happened if you did?
5. Have you ever been killed by one of the people who control this tower? Or faced them at all? I guess what I want to ask is, have you ever seen their powers or their methods firsthand?
6. Do you believe our worlds still exist? Why? Or why do you believe they're gone?
7. Do you have any friends here from your home world? Do you have any friends from a world that's almost like yours' but different?
8. Have you ever gotten something from home besides what's in your trunk? Also, what kind of things are in your trunk?
9. Have you ever asked for something in the suggestion box? What kind of thing, and how quickly did you get it, and did it work?
[And, finally, a question near and dear and terrifying to Tara's heart:]
10. As far as you know, have your memories ever been altered or changed while you're here? Or have you noticed that a friend should remember things that they don't?
I'm sorry. I know that's a lot of questions. But I have a lot of questions. Like I said, though, you don't have to answer all of them. Or any. I know everyone has a lot on their minds right now, and this probably doesn't help.
But, if you can, thank you. [She hopes you prove her wrong, fellow prisoners.] Really, thank you.

6. I believe they still exist. I dealt with very powerful beings, one of whom was brought here, and one of whom would have known something was coming if the world was going to be destroyed.
7. Lucifer's here.
8. My trunk had clothes, the technology and armor I wear on a daily basis, my gun and some bullets, and my sword.
9-10. No.

Yes I believe they still exist for 6.
Nope for 7.
I've got clothes, guns and ammo, first aid stuff and some plans I had drawn up back home in my trunk.
Nope for 9 and 10.

Or do you just think they're generally lying?
[Not that Tara necessarily disagrees on the "they're generally lying" front.]

1. Not hear, but dying was the last thing I did before I arrived here.
2, 3. No
4. Yes. Once again, again it was back home though so I'm not really sure how to answer the second half of that question.
5. No.
6. I am somewhat skeptical. Based on something that I was told on my first day and the fact that my world was destroyed several hours before I arrived here, I think they may still exist.
7. Yes on both counts.
8. No. My trunk contained almost everything I had on me when I died: spare clothing, my weapon, a summoning necklace, several posters, a book I've had for as long as I can remember, and my journals. My weapon was broken into several pieces though, I can only assume that this was so it would fit into the trunk, though I am not sure how they managed to break the metal the way they did.
9. There's a suggestion box?
10. No.
Mind if I ask what these questions are for?
They are a little to specific to just be random musings.
Re: text;
They're just bad ideas, and I didn't want to worry anyone. Besides - it seems like a lot of people don't know anything for sure about this place, besides the people who control it. I could be wrong.
text; wow did i really type "hear" instead of "here"? go me.
I saw nothing!

[She's only outright said what she was thinking to John so far. If the Tower Controllers were going to bust them, she thought they would have then.
As for the filter...well, she has very little practice at making filters as it is, and so hasn't noticed it outright come undone after her attempt.]
I figured they'd be busy, changing things over. All the weird food's gone in the cafeteria. Dax and Jason probably have some catching up to do, at least.
Otherwise, I've gotten some interesting answers. I'm writing them all down. You can see them later.

2. this question is confusing
3. no
[Though that makes her think - would she die if her collar was took off? Because of her soul gem, what if she wouldn't...? She's not exactly in a hurry to try it, though.]
4. yes but it wasn't when the tower was running the normal way
5. hahaha. I've seen em.
been cut open by one of them once or twice
real fun times
6. I think they still exist because what reason would they have to tell us the truth?
7. yes
mostly the latter
8. yes. once. it sucked. all my stuff from home is just mundane junk.
9. yes, didn't work, took over a month
[..Question ten.
...considering she'd been conspiring to mess with a friend's memory, before everything went to radio silence from the other party - yup, there's a pang of guilt for her right there.]
10. no

I guess it's more of a two-part question? Like, did they liquid in your collar ever run out so it's empty? And, also, have you ever not gone in for a checkup when you were supposed to so they send one of those things to knock you unconscious and drag you in?
Does that make any more sense?

5. I've never been killed but I have seen Jason's powers first hand. As for explaining them, that I can't do yet.
6. Yes, I do. All we have to go by is there word. No one has provided anything that might be considered concrete evidence.
7. There are people from my worlds, yes.
8. No
9. No
10. No. Although I wouldn't doubt it to be beyond the power of our captors.

one, two, three, five and ten i can't really answer because again i'm like pretty much brand new.
four - i haven't seen anyone here die, but at home i was caught in a blast and kind of died with two of my friends.
six - i don't know about other peoples worlds but i don't think mine does! apparently ours was doomed to stop existing. so i'm pretty sure it's not going to be there...
seven - i have one friend here yes! he is one of my best friends and was one of the ones caught in that blast. so we both died before we got here. and i have met a few people who are like my friends, but are different. like they were raised by different parents for some reason! there's a lot of temporal shenanigans going on i guess?
eight - i haven't! and in my trunk was some extra clothing, my magic spellbook, my little kitten, the first in a long line of universe tadpoles which was thoughtfully saved in his jar, some knitting supplies, a really old and really dear best friend of mine - my stuffed bunny! - my necronomicon...and lots and lots of boondollars. i'm basically rich!
nine - no, but what's the suggestion box for? o:
i hope some of that's helpful...sorry if it's not.
Re: text
What's a "universe tadpole"?
It sounds like you have a lot of interesting things in your trunk. They all belonged to you before you got here?

2. Not yet, no.
3. No.
4. Nothing different from when someone dies anywhere else. At least, not that I know of.
5. No.
6. From my experience, and unless this was another trick of the tower staff, they do exist- but they are wastelands. Nothing more, nothing less.
7. Most of my family is here, except for our dog, I believe.
8. Not yet, no. But the things in my trunk are things I've made myself, as well as things that I usually need, back home.
9. No.
10. Not that I have noticed, no. But then I think the point of something like that would be that the person who has had it done to them would not notice.

Oh, and for four, you didn't see what happened to the body after? [Tara looks uncomfortable typing out this response - she knows she's prying into a lot of what might be considered personal details or sad memories. Really, she's stunned at how many people are replying. They're braver people than she is, and that's a bit of the reason why she pushes on:] Maybe where it got taken?

I don't believe our worlds have destroyed, because incredible claims cannot be believed without incredible proof. That is simply--common sense. None of the "proof" we've been given is actual hard data, so I remain unconvinced. However, there's no reason to rule out the possibility. No theory has been conclusively proven by the inmates of this tower, to my knowledge. Though if they were destroyed, I would like to know more about the process and cause.
I died. It wasn't particularly noteworthy.
There are and have been people here from my world, yes. My son! One of my colleagues. And some others.

4. We all went out pretty much instantly.
5. Yes.
6. I am unsure, though I hope mine is gone.
7. My cousin is here but is from a different world.
8. No. Notebooks, clothes, books.
9. No.
10. No. However my cousin is female here where he was male in my world. Also, she chose a different path than he did.

3. No.
4. Yes, but not at this tower. I am not obligated to disclose details of the incident.
5. No. I have not been able to locate them.
6. Yes. I have yet to see evidence otherwise.
7. No. [There is a pause before he types in the next part.] Yes, one friend.
8. No. That information is none of your concern.
9. No. But I intend to, in the near future.
10. I cannot answer this question with certainty. I have been told information that I was previously unaware of.

And for 5 - it's not easy to locate them. Really, it mostly seems like they come to us whenever they feel like it. Sometimes they answer the suggestion box, though. Or the feedback box.

2, 3: No and no.
4. Plenty of times, both here and back home. What happened isn't really anyone's damn business, but I'm past caring. If you want to know that badly, then ask. Be specific. I've seen at least a hundred deaths.
5. In short: Yes and yes. I was part of a break-in attempt along with other people awhile back.
In detail: We broke in through the Elevator and tried to get to the core of the Tower's restricted area. The place was bare-bones, creepy, unguarded and not well-lit. When we finally reached an area full of monitors with worlds being destroyed and monitored, we had about... I dunno, a few minutes before someone hit the kill switch on us and summoned things to kill us--fighting didn't do much go well, only prolonged it. No one lasted very long, there were like black hands or something that just sort of... murdered you instantly, even if you fought?
6. Hard to say. I can only HOPE they do, but whatever. The worlds don't matter to me, but I'd rather be there than here.
7. Yes and yes, but I wouldn't call the second group of people 'friends' by any definition.
8. I have, but only after experiments. Mostly useless sentimental trinkets. And mostly practical stuff and self-defense stuff. Y'know, clothing, small bag of useful things (medical stuff, scissors, sewing kit, what have you), my weapons, some other personal things.
9. Yes. Media floor. And they did it. ... I was pretty surprised, but the Tower was a lot smaller back then, so who knows.
10. Yes. ... Though more by someone else here than by the admins or anything.
I know I'm not being specific or whatever, but that's what it is and truthfully I don't think you want to KNOW why or how for most of this.
... Though if you're really that desperate to ask, ask away. I might answer. I might not.
