third scripture. [ voice ]

Are there any scientists beyond the ones I have met around here?

Specifically, anyone willing to design a dehydration gun or lend it temporarily?

I am interested in doing an experiment in the name of science. I will be in the library for a brief time.

I don't need a gun for that. I can simply do it by removing the moisture. It's not that hard. Why?

[Sou figures that as long as HOLY Eye isn't watching him, he's okay to use the terminals. Yes, there is a hint of paranoia in his voice.]

Yeah, who doesn't? My question to you is where are you going to get it since it's removed?

[He laughs. He's heard of these things, but he's never seen a farm on any of the floors.]

Cute. As far as the replication part is concerned, I really DON'T want to know how you plan to pull that off.

My dear, that would take months to complete and if you haven't noticed, the meadow is a bit shallow to use for that kind of demand.

The harvest would take years to have a successful crop that would feed all of us. By the time you are finished, you would have to rotate the crops to keep them from turning the soil into useless dirt.

Aside from that, where are going to get the seeds? The first year alone would barely yield enough to feed ten people for a few weeks providing that you have the time and manpower to tend to the crops daily. It's not a plant and grow process.

Where have I said anything anywhere that made you think that I was doing such a thing? I'm merely pointing out the time that it would take to grow a successful crop. That's all. I have made no assumptions nor said that you said this or that.

Perhaps you need to work on your comprehension skills, silly woman. I think you assume too much on what our captors think we like or dislike. Have you asked them? There are monsters about that can be killed for meat.

Cute. Another righteous hero to save the day.

In that case, you're probably as dumb as you sound, given the company you're trying to call out to. If you paid attention, you'd know that the scientific types aren't exactly the most friendly and forthcoming. Especially here.

[ Oh hey that's the robot who mentioned his little trick on the network. Good thing no one knows he did it. ]

A dehydration gun? Is your purpose to conserve food for long-time periods? if yes there may be easier way to do so.

Or is your purpose laying elsewhere?

Then simply freeze the food. I believe there be many scientist and mage in the tower who could accomplish the deed.
