You make your own path. Regardless of to what specifications you may have been created, your future is your own, just as your unit is it's own. If the Creators intended you to act a certain way, as sapient life in any form, you have every right to defy this means if it is not the future you desire.

Is it strange the path I wanted was the path I thought I had?

It is not strange to desire a return to that which is familiar; comforting. Yet you are still 'alive', correct?

Then you have a difficult decision to make in your own future. Whether you would rather be "comfortable" in familiarity, or whether you would rather continue down the path that branches off from that which you were built after.

In the end, it is ultimately your decision as to "who you are", whether you were built to replicate another or not.
